Rolling Stones Unveil Album Featuring Paul McCartney and The Cure

The Rolling Stones Announce New Album “Foreign Tongues”

The iconic rock band, The Rolling Stones, have officially announced the release of their new album titled Foreign Tongues. This upcoming project will be launched this summer, marking another significant milestone in the band’s long and storied career. The album is set to drop on July 10, with a new single called “In The Stars” already available for fans to enjoy.

This latest collaboration sees the band reuniting with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, who previously worked on their acclaimed 2023 album Hackney Diamonds. The return of Watt has been met with excitement from both fans and critics alike, as his production style has played a key role in shaping the band’s recent sound.

Recording Process and Collaborations

The core lineup of The Rolling Stones—Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood—was joined by their regular collaborators, Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford, and Steve Jordan, during the recording sessions at Metropolis Studios in West London. The album also features the late drummer Charlie Watts, whose contributions were recorded before his passing in 2021.

In addition to these musicians, the album includes guest appearances from notable artists such as Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. These collaborations are expected to add a unique dimension to the album’s overall sound.

Band Members’ Reactions

Mick Jagger shared his enthusiasm for the recording process, stating, “I love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis. It was a very intense few weeks recording Foreign Tongues. We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as it’s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.”

Keith Richards echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the continuity between Foreign Tongues and Hackney Diamonds. He said, “The Foreign Tongues album has a continuity from Hackney Diamonds and it was great to be working in London again, and to have that London vibe around us. It was a month of concentrated punch. To me, it’s all about the enjoyment of it. I’m blessed to be able to do this and long may it last.”

Ronnie Wood praised the creative atmosphere during the recording sessions, saying, “The atmosphere in the room was so creative, and the whole band was on top form throughout the whole process. Very often we nailed it on the first take. I hope everyone loves it.”

Teasing the Release

The album’s release had been hinted at in recent weeks through an international billboard campaign. Earlier this year, Wood mentioned that new music was on the way, telling the press that fans would be “getting a new album” in 2026. This was followed by an enigmatic campaign by the band’s alter egos, The Cockroaches, which included the release of the single “Rough and Twisted.”

The official Rolling Stones Instagram account also shared a series of images showcasing billboards around the world, including locations such as Sydney, Australia, and Paris, France. These billboards featured the Rolling Stones logo and the same phrase repeated in various languages, teasing the album’s title, Foreign Tongues.
