Legal Battles Between Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O
The announcement comes at a time when Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O are involved in legal battles against their former employer, ARN. Both stars are suing ARN for wrongful termination.
Sandilands is seeking $85 million in damages over his $100 million contract, while Jackie O has filed an $82.25 million lawsuit against the company. These legal disputes have been ongoing since the termination of their popular show, The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
Sandilands recently teased a potential new project during his legal battle, with many speculating that a podcast could be in the works. His contract was terminated following a controversial on-air clash with Jackie O on February 20, after she read from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s astrology birth chart.
Despite the incident, Sandilands has consistently denied breaching the terms of his contract. He released a statement announcing his termination from ARN, stating: “ARN has just announced that they’ve terminated my contract. I don’t accept it. My lawyers told them last week this would be invalid. And guess what? It is.”
ARN’s Response and Counter-Suit
In response to the claims, ARN issued a statement regarding Jackie O’s departure from the show. The statement said: “Ms Jacqueline Henderson has given notice that she ‘cannot continue to work with Mr Kyle Sandilands.’ Accordingly, ARN has terminated the services agreement with Henderson Media Pty Ltd, under which Ms Henderson presents the Kyle and Jackie O show. Ms Henderson will cease to present the Kyle and Jackie O show. ARN has also offered to Ms Henderson the possibility of an alternative show on the ARN network,” it added.
Henderson, 51, broke her silence in a statement, claiming she “did not quit or resign” from The Kyle and Jackie O Show after the program was pulled from the KIIS FM airwaves by ARN. However, ARN Media disputes these claims and has stated that it will defend against the lawsuit in court. The company is also counter-suing the duo.
