As Ravioli matured, this uncertainty only increased.
Initially, he looked like a typical Italian greyhound puppy, but as he grew, his proportions changed dramatically. His body became stockier and more muscular, his legs lengthened, and his head remained noticeably small in comparison. This unique combination has created a distinctive silhouette that has left many people both amused and charmed.
A TikTok video shared on Ravioli’s dedicated account, @ravioli.linguini, shows him walking confidently, with his long legs and compact head clearly visible. The short clip perfectly highlights his unusual proportions, and it quickly gained popularity online. Within just a few days, the video went viral, accumulating over 2.7 million views and more than 278,000 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
The video included a humorous caption: “Whoever sold me this Italian greyhound, count your days.” However, Ravioli’s owner clarified that the comment was meant to be light-hearted. They explained that the shelter had always been honest about Ravioli being a mixed-breed dog rather than a purebred Italian greyhound.
Ravioli’s owners have consistently emphasized that his genetic background is less important than his personality. In another TikTok post, the owner shared that they had always wanted to own an Italian greyhound and that, as a puppy, Ravioli looked “pretty close” to fitting that image.
“As he started to age and grow, his body grew faster than his head,” the owner wrote. “He is now the majestic creature you see now, and it seems his bad-angle videos are always a hit. He is a bit chonky, his head is a bit too small, and his legs are longer than a Chihuahua’s legs. But he has the sweetest temperament and has the biggest heart.”
Instead of seeking a DNA test to uncover his breed mix, the owner has chosen to embrace the mystery surrounding Ravioli. They prefer to let his unique appearance speak for itself, rather than focusing on what makes him genetically.
