New Season of Farmer Wants a Wife is Here
The highly anticipated new season of Farmer Wants a Wife is set to return soon, and with it come the familiar faces of farmers Alex, Jarrad, Dylan, Jason, and Zac. All are hoping to find love on the show, but as always, fans are left wondering: how real is it?
Looking back at the 2025 season, there was no shortage of drama. Host Natalie Gruzlewski made a full-time return for the first time in years, guiding contestants Jack, Jarrad, Tom, Corey, and Thomas through one of the most intense seasons yet. The show was filled with shocking walkouts, secret texts, jealousy, and even a few heartbreaks.
Despite the challenges, some relationships formed on the show have continued off-screen. Corey and Keeley, Tom and Georgie, and Jack and Sarah are all still together as the new season approaches.
However, not everyone had a positive experience. Behind the scenes, some secrets from last year are still causing controversy as fans prepare for the 2026 season.

Last season, there were claims of a mass exodus among the contestants. A former contestant recently spoke out, revealing behind-the-scenes details that shocked many. It was reported that multiple girls left the show within hours of arriving on the farms. One contestant made bold allegations about the production process, suggesting that the environment could be quite harsh.
The girls who left were matched with Farmers Tom and Thomas, but Tom only learned of their departure after it had already happened. For someone to leave without saying goodbye or explaining their reasons would be emotionally challenging, especially for someone like Tom, who values open communication in relationships.

In a previous interview, Tom emphasized the importance of communication in romantic partnerships. “It’s important to talk to each other,” he said. “True love is a must, and there needs to be genuine respect.”
Some believe the girls may have sensed early on that there was no future with their respective farmers. However, others speculate that they might have been unhappy with the production side of things, especially if they experienced similar conditions to what was described by previous contestant Ellen Dunger during the 2024 season.

Ellen competed for the affections of Farmer Todd in 2024. As she watched the premiere episode, she shared insights into her experience on the show and defended this year’s contestants. She pointed out that the girls were criticized for being emotional after the Speed Dates, even though they hadn’t formed any real connections with the farmers.
“These girls will be criticised for being upset, but they have literally spent back-to-back days… filming until it is dark,” Ellen wrote on one Instagram Story. “It’s so emotionally draining, and you get exhausted.” On another post, she mentioned that the cheese platters were often left out for hours, and the girls were served warm champagne.
On Facebook, in a group dedicated to Farmer Wants a Wife, Ellen revealed more production secrets, stating that while the show isn’t scripted, it is “orchestrated.” She explained that the contestants were up at dawn and filmed until dark. “Hair and make-up have to be the same every day. They are grilled on emotions all day by producers. They fill your head with all these expectations, but they all bring up all these memories of failed relationships.”

By the end of the third day of Speed Dates, the girls were emotionally exhausted and mentally drained. Ellen described the experience as overwhelming, adding that she was wrecked after just one day and 15 hours of filming. “Imagine doing three,” she said. During lunch breaks, the contestants were locked in a Budget rental van and brought lunch. They were also accompanied to use the portaloos, which made the experience far from glamorous.
Ellen clarified that she holds no grudges but wanted to share her experiences with the public. As a journalist, she felt it was natural to gather information and “get a message across.”
