A Journey of Love and Resilience
Hugh Jackman’s girlfriend, Sutton Foster, 51, has opened up about her feelings of “loneliness” in the face of intense media attention surrounding their public romance. The Broadway star recently joined a Women’s Health Lab panel titled ‘The Science of Staying Strong: Longevity, Movement & Resilience’, where she discussed how she manages stress while being in the public eye.
“I’ve been a leading lady for a long time… but often I feel really alone,” Foster shared. She added that she reached out to many of her contemporaries last year, and found that many women on Broadway experience similar feelings of isolation. “Everyone shared the commonality of loneliness,” she said.
Foster also spoke about how women in the industry are often “pitted against each other.” However, she believes that women of power can support each other. “There’s room for more than just one of us,” she emphasized.
On the panel, Foster revealed her daily routine for managing stress, which includes a nightly bath. She also credited her “side hustle as a fitness instructor” for giving her strength to face each day.
Jackman and Foster first became romantically linked in late 2024. This came after Jackman and his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, 70, shocked the world by announcing their divorce after 30 years of marriage. It was also around the same time that Foster ended her 11-year relationship with Ted Griffin.
Following months of speculation, their relationship was confirmed in January 2025 when they were photographed strolling hand-in-hand in Santa Monica, California.
Jackman has been pretty public about his romance with Foster, taking to Instagram to gush over her just a few weeks after they went public. He posted a message about her performance during the holidays at Cafe Carlyle, calling it “truly magical.”
He shared a photo of Foster smiling wide while performing on stage with a small band. They made their first red carpet appearance together at the Song Sung Blue premiere in October 2025.
Later in May 2026, they brought Broadway magic to the Met Gala. Most recently, they were seen cosying up on the red carpet at the New York premiere of the showman’s newest film, The Sheep Detectives.
