Supercomputer predicts Arsenal’s Premier League title defense

Arsenal have just secured the Premier League title, but a football supercomputer has already assessed the Gunners’ chances of retaining the trophy next season.

Mikel Arteta’s team finally claimed the league crown last weekend after being confirmed as champions in midweek, ending a 22-year wait for the most prestigious prize in English men’s football. While Arsenal will look to add to their success next weekend in the Champions League final, the focus is now shifting towards preparing for the challenge of defending their league title next season.

The club’s owners have already made it clear that they will not slow down during the summer transfer window. They are determined to strengthen Arteta’s squad by adding more quality and depth to the team. However, Arsenal will still need to overcome significant competition if they are to achieve what no other Gunner side has done before – win back-to-back Premier League titles.

Even though Pep Guardiola is leaving this summer, Manchester City will remain a formidable opponent under new manager Enzo Maresca. The Italian will take over from the legendary Spaniard and is expected to continue the club’s strong performance in the league.

Meanwhile, Manchester United hope to build on their progress under Michael Carrick, aiming for a full season of development. Liverpool, on the other hand, will be hoping that a more stable pre-season under Arne Slot helps them return to their best form.

Despite all these challenges, a football supercomputer has predicted that Arsenal will successfully defend their title next season. The model took into account various factors, such as player quality, managerial expertise, historical trends, form during the 2025/26 season, betting market fluctuations, and other relevant variables.

After simulating every possible game in a season 10,000 times, the supercomputer believes that Arsenal will secure a comfortable victory, finishing eight points ahead of Manchester City in second place. Liverpool and Manchester United are expected to complete the top four, with Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Tottenham securing the remaining European qualification spots.

At the bottom of the table, the supercomputer is not optimistic about any of the three promoted teams from the Championship. Frank Lampard’s Coventry City are projected to finish at the bottom, while Ipswich Town and Hull City will end up in 19th and 18th positions, respectively.
