NXT Preview: Who’s Targeting the Championship?

There are several championship matches set to take place next week, and the excitement is building up. We recently witnessed the NXT Women’s Championship being successfully defended by Lola Vice against Izzi Dame. Now, it’s time for Tony D’Angelo to defend his NXT Championship.

Izzi Dame and Lola Vice faced some outside distractions from The Culling and OTM during their match, but ultimately, Lola Vice came out on top. The question now is, who will be her next challenger? Will Izzi Dame get another shot at the championship? And will The Culling continue to be a strong faction?

To find out what is scheduled for the June 2nd edition of WWE NXT, read more here.

The State of The Culling

As previously mentioned, Shawn Spears and Niko Vance made an appearance during Izzi Dame’s championship match. Due to the chaos that ensued, Dame found herself caught in the three-count from Lola Vice after receiving a powerful backhand.

Vance and Dame seem to be growing increasingly frustrated with Spears each week. It seems like only a matter of time before they break away from him. They were upset with Spears for making a match against OTM the same night as Dame’s title match.

As a way to resolve this issue, Spears attacked OTM, canceling the match for the night. Although Dame and Vance were also upset about this decision, it ensured their presence in Dame’s match.

Now that Izzi Dame has lost the championship match, it’s likely that a lot of the blame will fall on Shawn Spears for coming out and trying to help her. Have Niko Vance and Izzi Dame had enough of Shawn Spears? What’s next for Spears?

Who is Challenging Tony D’Angelo?

Next week on WWE NXT, Tony D’Angelo will be defending the NXT Championship against Kam Hendrix. Since Hendrix made his debut a few weeks ago, he has immediately set his sights on the gold.

For a new talent, Hendrix has made sure people remember his name by challenging for the top championship right from the start. This shows his confidence, but will his actions be able to back up his words?

Last week on NXT, there was an interesting interaction between new NXT star Naraku and Tony D’Angelo. D’Angelo assumed that Naraku wants a championship match like everyone else on the roster, but Naraku surprised everyone when he said he will fight to keep D’Angelo champion because it is their “destiny to go to war.”

Are these mind games by Naraku, or does he really want D’Angelo to remain champion? What does he mean by they will go to war together? Will Naraku get involved in Kam Hendrix’s championship match next week?
