The Jaecoo J9, a luxury range-extended hybrid SUV from the Chinese automaker, has recently been reported to be approved for entry into the UK market. This development suggests that the vehicle could potentially make its way to Australia in the near future, generating excitement among car enthusiasts and potential buyers.
The Jaecoo J9 is closely related to the Chery Fulwin T11, which is currently available in China. In the UK, it will be marketed under the Jaecoo brand, but it is essentially the same as the T11 with some minor styling differences. The Fulwin T11 was launched in China in 2025 and quickly gained attention for its impressive driving range of up to 1400km. This remarkable performance is made possible by its range extender hybrid system, which combines a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine with one or two electric motors, depending on the variant. This setup allows for front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations, offering versatility for different driving conditions.
In terms of battery capacity, the Fulwin T11 offers two options in China: a 33.68kWh battery for the single motor variant and a 39.92kWh battery for the dual motor version.
