Owain Rhys Davies, best known for his role as Agent Wilson in Twin Peaks: The Return, has tragically passed away at the age of 44. His family is currently seeking clarity on the circumstances surrounding his death, while also coming to terms with their profound loss.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram on Sunday, May 31, Owain’s brother, Rhodri Davies, announced the news. He said, “It is with profound sadness that my father and I share the news that my brother, Owain, has passed away.”

“This news will come as a great shock to many,” he added. “While there are still questions that remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death, our understanding at this stage is that Owain passed suddenly, naturally, and peacefully.”

Rhodri continued his message by reflecting on Owain’s impact on those around him. He wrote, “The reach of Owain’s love, friendship, and generosity was vast.”

“The outpouring of messages we have received over the past few days has been deeply moving and a testament to the impact he had on so many lives,” Rhodri expressed. “Owain was fortunate enough to have more than one family. Alongside his biological one, he built extraordinary, family-like bonds with many of his closest friends, colleagues, and loved ones.”

He concluded, “We know that this loss will be felt by a great many people, and we take comfort in knowing how loved he was.”

Owain’s family requested privacy as they grieve and support one another through the difficult days ahead. They also thanked everyone for their kindness and messages, saying, “Thank you for your kindness, your messages, and for keeping Owain in your thoughts.”

The statement did not provide any details about the cause of death. It was signed, “Rhodri (Brawd / Brother) & Conway (Tad / Dad).”

Owain gained widespread recognition for his work in television, including his role in The OA, as well as appearances in films such as Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Indian Doctor, My Dead Ex, and A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life.

His career also extended to theater, where he performed on London’s West End in productions like Mamma Mia!, The Wizard of Oz, By Jeeves, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

In recent years, Owain was involved in several film projects, including Jeff the Killer and La Fantasia, both of which are currently in post-production.
