New Contract for Aurelio Vidmar at Melbourne City
Melbourne City has announced the renewal of its coaching contract with Aurelio Vidmar, who will continue to lead the team for the next two years. This decision marks a significant step in the club’s ongoing development and reflects confidence in Vidmar’s vision and leadership.
Vidmar, a former Socceroo, has been at the helm of Melbourne City since November 2023. His tenure has already seen several milestones, including the club’s first A-League title in the 2025 season. Despite the recent setback in the A-League finals series, where Melbourne City was eliminated in a penalty shootout by Auckland FC, Vidmar remains focused on future goals. “There’s still a lot we want to achieve, and I’m excited to continue that journey with everyone at the club,” he said.
He also highlighted the importance of developing young talent within the club. “We’ve achieved some important milestones over the past few seasons. Just as importantly, we’ve continued to provide opportunities for young players to develop and progress to the highest level, while also seeing so many of our players earn national team selection across multiple age groups.”
