Stylish Winter Outfits on a Budget
Winter fashion doesn’t have to be expensive, and with the right pieces, you can create a variety of trendy outfits without breaking the bank. Kmart’s winter clothing and accessories range offers a great selection of items that are both affordable and stylish, making it easy to put together a complete look with coats, boots, and accessories.
The Perfect Base Layer
My go-to outfit started with a $12 long sleeve asymmetric neck top in white, paired with $35 pocket detail jeans. This combination instantly made me feel stylish and was incredibly flattering—especially when the top was tucked into the high-waisted jeans. I love how versatile the top is; it can be worn with different pants and skirts, while the jeans will become a staple in my wardrobe, pairing well with other tops.
Adding Some Glamour
To elevate the look, I added the $39 high zip PU long boots. These boots not only gave me a stylish edge but also made me feel glamorous. What I really loved about them is that they fit comfortably over my calves with extra room, which is rare for knee-high boots. This makes me excited to explore new outfit possibilities with these boots.
For a touch of ’90s style, I added the $10 faux fur bucket hat. It looks cute and is very warm, making it perfect for chilly days and nights.
The Essential Coat
No winter outfit is complete without a coat, and I chose the $45 contrast check trench coat. As the name suggests, it features a contrasting collar, wrist cuffs, and buttons for an elevated look. I’ll be able to wear this coat with everything in my wardrobe, so it’s a great investment for the season.
Practical Accessories
Of course, I couldn’t go out without a bag to carry all my essentials. The $15 scrunch tote bag in rich burgundy complements the rest of my outfit beautifully. It’s practical and adds a pop of colour to the overall look.
Alyssa’s Winter Look
My friend Alyssa also created a stunning winter outfit from Kmart. She opted for the $30 long sleeve waist tie maxi dress, a figure-hugging piece that draws attention to the waist with its tie.
“I love having a knit dress on hand in my wardrobe that can fit any occasion,” she said. “I’ve tried many different styles from different brands, but this Kmart knit is one of the comfiest ones I’ve tried. It fits nicely on the body and looks flattering. It looks classy with boots but could also go with flat shoes for the office.”
For a bit of sparkle, she wore the $7 three-piece chain necklace. She also used the scrunch tote bag in burgundy and high boots with heels.
The Final Touch
The $49 leather look trim denim trench coat tied her entire outfit together and kept her warm during her daily activities.
“This trench coat is effortlessly chic and super comfy,” Alyssa said. “I loved the leather detailing on the collar and cuffs; it worked perfectly when styled with the boots. Not only was it comfortable to wear, but it was also easy to style an outfit around, whether for a nicer occasion or just a casual day out.”
