A New Adaptation of Sense & Sensibility is in the Works
Jane Austen’s timeless stories continue to inspire new adaptations, and it seems that the world will soon see a fresh take on one of her most beloved novels, Sense & Sensibility. This time, the lead role of Elinor Dashwood will be played by Daisy Edgar-Jones, a rising star in the entertainment industry. Edgar-Jones, who gained international recognition for her role in the popular series Normal People, recently shared the news on Instagram. On June 25th, she posted a selfie holding the iconic novel, captioning it with a pair of eye emojis. The post quickly went viral, generating a wave of anticipation for the upcoming film.
For those unfamiliar with the original story, Sense & Sensibility follows the lives of two sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, as they navigate the challenges of life after their father’s death. Known for her works Love & Virtue and Seeing Other People, Reid has written the film adaptation of Sense & Sensibility. She shared the news on Instagram, expressing her disbelief and excitement at being entrusted with such a beloved novel.
