Nicole da Silva Joins Home and Away Cast for the Second Time
Nicole da Silva, a beloved actor known for her roles in Wentworth and Doctor Doctor, has officially joined the cast of Home and Away. This marks not only a new chapter in her career but also a return to the iconic Australian soap opera, Summer Bay. While this is her second time appearing on the show, it’s the first time she will be playing a significant role.
After months of secrecy, the Logie-winning actress has finally revealed that she will be portraying a character named Dr. Amelia Carlisle. In a statement, Nicole expressed her excitement about joining the cast of such a well-known institution. “The Home and Away team have been so welcoming, and I look forward to audiences meeting Amelia in the coming months,” she said.
Whispers about Nicole’s involvement with Home and Away had been circulating for several months before the official announcement. According to Nicole, the rumors started when fans spotted her on set during filming at Palm Beach. “In the early days of filming up at Palm Beach, I had fans come out of the woodwork, and I’d hear my name being called out [while on set],” she shared, as reported by the West Australian.
She added, “I tried to avoid their questions and the cameras, but unfortunately, there were whispers going around.” Despite the excitement surrounding her character’s name, Nicole emphasized that most details about her role remain under wraps. “It’s all a bit secret-squirrels, and an ‘in the cone of silence’ kind of situation,” she joked. “But all will be revealed soon — and I think audiences are going to get a real kick out of who I cross paths with in Summer Bay.”
In an interview with Stellar, Nicole shared that her first scene on set was with Ray Meagher, the actor known for his role as Alf. “It was a real pinch-me moment. I was like, ‘Oh, wow. I’m definitely in the Bay now. I’ve arrived.’”
A Return to Summer Bay
This isn’t the first time Nicole has appeared on Home and Away. In 2006, she briefly played a character named Jane Sims in one episode of the popular soap. Her character appeared while Robbie (played by Jason Smith) and Kim (played by Chris Hemsworth) were on a camping trip, and had a brief romance with Robbie. However, their relationship was cut short when Robbie received a phone call informing him that his grandfather, Graham (played by Doug Scroope), had suffered a heart attack.
Nicole’s return to Home and Away is highly anticipated by fans. The show continues to captivate audiences with its compelling storylines and dynamic characters. With Nicole’s addition to the cast, viewers can expect exciting developments in the upcoming episodes.
