Meet Aaron Gladden
Aaron Gladden, 33, hails from Waltham, Massachusetts. His story is one of dedication, mentorship, and personal growth. For over a decade, he has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts (BBBSEM), an organization that has had a profound impact on his life.
Just after graduating from Boston University in 2014, Aaron decided to become a Big Brother. He was matched with a young boy named Teyvon, who was just nine years old at the time. Over the years, Aaron watched Teyvon grow from an elementary school student into a high school graduate. Their relationship has lasted more than ten years, and it has brought a lot of positivity into Aaron’s life.
Through this experience, Aaron has learned a great deal about himself and the world around him. As an only child, he often felt he could have used a big brother growing up. This realization deepened his commitment to BBBSEM and everything it stands for.
A Commitment to the Cause
Aaron’s dedication to BBBSEM led him to join the organization’s Board of Advisors in 2025. In this role, he works to help advance the mission of pairing youth with caring adult mentors. His involvement goes beyond just being a supporter; it’s a reflection of his deep belief in the power of mentorship.
Running the Boston Marathon has long been a personal goal for Aaron. This year, he is proud to take on the historic race for the first time while raising funds for a cause that has shaped both his life and his community.
The Impact of Mentorship
The relationship between Aaron and Teyvon is a powerful example of how mentorship can change lives. It’s not just about guidance; it’s about building trust, offering support, and creating opportunities for growth. For many children, having a mentor can be the difference between success and struggle.
BBBSEM is dedicated to providing these life-changing relationships. By matching youth with caring adults, the organization helps create a brighter future for countless children. Aaron’s journey with BBBSEM is a testament to the positive impact that such programs can have.
