Tom Holland’s Mixed Emotions Ahead of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘The Odyssey’ Tours

Tom Holland’s Exciting Year: Balancing Work and Community

Tom Holland is having an eventful year, both professionally and personally. While the actor hasn’t officially commented on wedding rumors, he has been very vocal about his upcoming film projects and the press tours that accompany them. His latest films, The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, are set to release around the same time, creating a busy schedule for the actor.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter during BERO’s second annual Padel Classic, Holland shared his feelings about the upcoming promotional events for both films. He admitted to feeling nervous about the intense workload but also expressed excitement about returning to the press tour circuit.

A Focus on Community and Charitable Causes

For Holland, the excitement comes not only from the films themselves but also from the community-focused events that come with the press tours. He emphasized that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is all about community, and the promotional events will include cultural and charitable components.

“I’m not going to lie and say that I’m not daunted by the travel and the number of events we are going to,” he said. “But one of the things that I love, especially for Spider-Man, is that the movie is all about community. All of these stops that we’re doing, we are working in cultural events, community events, and there will be charitable components.”

Holland also mentioned how much he missed the traditional press tours after the last Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, was released in 2021. Most of those promotions were conducted virtually, which made the experience different from previous tours.

Collaborating with Matt Damon and Learning from Christopher Nolan

Holland is particularly excited about joining Matt Damon for the press tour of The Odyssey. He expressed eagerness to learn from Damon and observe how he navigates the press tour.

“I’m excited to go on a press tour for The Odyssey with Matt Damon and learn from him and watch the way he navigates it,” he said.

In addition to Damon, Holland praised the director of The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan. He shared how involved Nolan is in both the filmmaking process and the promotional events, making the experience even more special.

“It’s just really interesting to see what one of the greatest living directors does on set and then what he does for the press tour,” he said.

Awe for Nolan’s In-Camera Effects

Earlier, Holland had marveled at Nolan’s insistence on using in-camera effects rather than relying on CGI. He described how some scenes in The Odyssey initially looked like they were created with computer-generated imagery, only to later discover that they were filmed in real life.

“This shows how committed Nolan is to his vision,” Holland added.

Fan Anticipation for the Films

It’s not just Holland who is excited about the films. The entire fandom is eagerly awaiting the release of The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. With Nolan at the helm of The Odyssey, fans are especially curious about what the director will bring to the table.

Upcoming Releases and Press Tours

As the release dates for both films draw closer, the press tours are expected to generate significant buzz. Fans are looking forward to seeing how the actors and directors will engage with the public and promote their work.

With the combination of exciting storytelling, community involvement, and the presence of industry legends like Nolan and Damon, it’s clear that 2024 is shaping up to be a memorable year for Tom Holland and his fans.
