Heartbreaking Choice: Pussycat Dolls Cancel US Tour Amid Controversy

Pussycat Dolls Cancel Most Tour Dates, Only One Show Will Proceed

The Pussycat Dolls have made a surprising decision to cancel all but one of their upcoming performances as part of their “PCD FOREVER Tour.” The group’s current members—Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts—shared a joint statement on social media confirming the news. They revealed that after taking an “honest look” at their North American tour schedule, they had decided to proceed with only one show at the OUTLOUD Music Festival.

“When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world,” the statement read. “After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.”

The group emphasized that their performance at the OUTLOUD Music Festival would go ahead as planned. They expressed their excitement about being part of the event, which celebrates the LGBTQ+ community.

“The LGBTQ+ community has shown us so much love and support throughout our career, and we’re honoured to be part of a weekend rooted in joy, pride, music, and chosen family,” the statement continued.

In addition, the Pussycat Dolls reassured fans that their scheduled shows in the UK and Europe would proceed as planned. They highlighted the positive response from fans, noting that many of these events had already sold out.

“We are putting everything into making this show a true celebration of the music and the memories, for the fans who have been with us from the beginning and those discovering us for the first time.”

Controversy Over Original Members’ Exclusion

Following the announcement of the tour and the release of the group’s new single, Club Song, fans quickly noticed the absence of three original members: Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton.

Carmit Bachar, 51, released a statement expressing her surprise at not being contacted about the tour plans. She said she learned about the decision at the same time as the public and felt it was unfair given her role in forming the group.

“I was not contacted regarding the group’s decision to move forward with a tour, and I learned of these plans at the same time as the public,” she said. “Given my role in forming the group, I would have appreciated direct communication regarding their decision to embark on a reunion tour.”

Jessica Sutta, 43, also shared her thoughts on social media. She mentioned that she had only heard about the reunion the day before the announcement.

“I was never planning to return under the current circumstances, and unfortunately I’m still unable to dance due to ongoing health issues,” she wrote. “Because of that, the recent news was difficult for me.”

Fan Reactions and Future Plans

Fans have been vocal about their disappointment over the exclusion of the original members. Many have expressed concern about the group’s future and whether the current lineup will be able to carry on the legacy of the Pussycat Dolls.

Despite the controversy, the group remains focused on their upcoming shows. They have pledged to deliver a memorable experience for fans, celebrating both their past and present.

As the tour moves forward, it will be interesting to see how the group handles the challenges ahead and whether the absence of the original members will affect their performance or fan reception.
