Beyoncé made a stunning appearance at the 2026 Met Gala in an eye-catching outfit — but she wasn’t the only one turning heads. Her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, also stole the spotlight as she made her debut at fashion’s most prestigious event.
The 14-year-old joined her mother and stepfather, Jay-Z, for the Monday, May 4 gathering, marking her first time attending the iconic party. The event, which is known for its extravagant fashion choices, saw Blue Ivy shine in her own unique style.

As a co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, Beyoncé chose a nude dress adorned with sparkling embellishments that resembled a skeleton. She paired the look with a matching headpiece and a gray, feathery jacket. When asked about the design, the Grammy-winning artist expressed her admiration for the creator, Olivier Rousteing. “He has been so loyal to me, and I’ve done so many iconic looks with him,” she said.

Meanwhile, Blue Ivy opted for a more classic look. She wore a strapless cream dress with a structured popped collar, complemented by a matching coat. She added sunglasses and a necklace to complete her ensemble. Jay-Z, on the other hand, looked effortlessly stylish in a black and white tuxedo with a white flower accent.
The couple’s younger children, 8-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, were not present at the event.

Blue Ivy has clearly inherited her parents’ passion for the entertainment industry. She has already released a few songs and performed as a dancer on Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour. In the documentary Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, the singer admitted she was initially hesitant to let her daughter perform on stage. “She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no,” Beyoncé shared.
The mother-of-three also revealed that there were several negative comments directed at Blue Ivy online. “I was pretty disappointed that she had access to them,” she said. Some of the harsh remarks included statements like, “Get this nepo baby off our screens, we are TIRED,” and “Stop trying to make Blue Ivy happen. It’s not going to happen.”

Despite the criticism, Blue Ivy remained resilient. “There were lots of negative things that people had to say, but I could see that the more I do, the better I become,” she acknowledged.
Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, noted that his granddaughter refused to let the negativity affect her. “That’s when Blue Ivy started practicing and practicing,” he recalled. “Basically saying, ‘I’ll show you!’ — that’s a Knowles right there!”
“I’m just going to get better and better from where I am now,” Blue Ivy said. “And on the last show, I’ll be dancing as hard as I possibly can. I feel a little bit more tough.”
