Paloma Faith’s Unfiltered Moment at the BAFTA TV Awards
Paloma Faith recently shared a candid glimpse into her life as a new mother during the BAFTA TV Awards. Nine weeks after giving birth, she took to Instagram to reveal a humorous and unfiltered moment of her breast pumping in the toilets. The singer, 44, is already a mother to two daughters with her ex-partner Leyman Lahcine, and welcomed her son with boyfriend Stevie Thomas in March.
Her post captured a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of balancing motherhood with public appearances. In the video, she showed herself removing her wearable breast pumps while in the bathroom, with Amanda Holden helping her get them in place under her black gown. She joked that the footage was too graphic to share, saying: ‘I’m in the toilets at the BAFTAs and I’ve just taken my magic In-bra pumps out. Breast pumping at the BAFTAs… in the toilets. I should’ve filmed it because Amanda Holden was the one who helped me get them in, but it was too graphic.’

Her dedication to breastfeeding was evident as she later shared a proud photo of herself and Amanda holding the filled bags of breastmilk, captioning it: ‘The end result, thanks @noholdenback’. Paloma has been open about the challenges of breastfeeding, admitting it ‘hurt like mad’ with her first two children, but she persevered due to societal pressure. She encouraged mothers to stop blaming themselves for their experiences.
A Night of Laughter and Celebration
Paloma wasn’t alone in celebrating at the awards. She was joined by her friend Alan Carr, who was also on a high after winning the public-voted Memorable Moment Award for his win on Celebrity Traitors. The trio shared a hilarious moment, with Paloma posting a selfie of Alan posing with the trophy over his face and wearing his signature spectacles.
Amanda captured the fun of the night with a picture of the group in hysterics at dinner, captioning it: ‘Blondes have more fun, especially with Alan.’ Despite a past conflict where Alan chose Paloma as his first ‘murder victim’ on Celebrity Traitors, the pair proved there’s no bad blood between them. Alan dedicated his award to Paloma, joking, ‘There’s no one else I would rather murder more than you.’

A Big Night for Reality TV
Celebrity Traitors had a successful night, winning the Best Reality award. The show beat out competitors such as The Jury: Murder Trial, Squid Game: The Challenge, and Virgin Island. Claudia Winkleman accepted the award on behalf of the cast, praising their ‘extraordinary’ work.
Netflix drama Adolescence dominated the ceremony, winning four awards, including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Limited Drama. Stephen Graham won Best Actor for his portrayal of Jamie Miller’s father, while Owen Cooper, 16, became the youngest winner of the Best Supporting Actor award at both the Golden Globes and the Emmy Awards.

Recognition for Excellence in Television
Other notable winners included Rose Ayling-Ellis for Best Drama, with Code Of Silence beating out A Thousand Blows, Blue Lights, and This City Is Ours. Narges Rashidi won Best Lead Actress for her role in Passenger 951, dedicating the award to Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.
Amandaland won Best Scripted Comedy, but stars Lucy Punch and Philippa Dunne missed out on the Actress In A Comedy gong, which went to Katherine Parkinson for her performance in Here We Go. Katherine thanked her husband during her acceptance speech, acknowledging his support.

Honoring Important Stories
The documentary Gaza: Doctors Under Attack won the Current Affairs category, despite the BBC’s decision not to broadcast it. Channel 4 stepped in to air the film, with producers criticizing the BBC’s choice. The win was included in a sped-up montage of other awards.
Channel 4 also received recognition for its reporting on the Iran conflict, while historian Simon Schama won for his BBC Two documentary The Road to Auschwitz. The factual series category went to Channel 4’s See No Evil, which examined the Church of England abuse scandal.
Celebrating International Talent
Seth Rogen accepted the Best International Series Award for his Apple TV show, The Studio, dedicating the award to Catherine O’Hara, who passed away earlier this year. Martin Lewis was honored with the Bafta Television special award, while Dame Mary Berry received the BAFTA Fellowship, joining the ranks of television legends.
