Guinness World Records launches “What’s the Record?” podcast

Introducing a New Podcast: What’s The Record?

Guinness World Records is launching an exciting new podcast called What’s The Record?, offering listeners a unique insight into the lives of its record holders. Hosted by Will Munford, the show features in-depth conversations with special guests who have achieved remarkable feats.

Will Munford, known for his appearances on popular UK TV shows like Strictly Come Dancing and podcasts such as Hanging Out with Ant & Dec, brings his engaging personality to this new venture. He’s swapping his Adjudicator uniform for a more casual look, creating a relaxed atmosphere for discussions with record holders.

A Unique Format

In each episode, Will is joined by an in-house expert, diving deep into the stories of their guests. They explore how these individuals achieved their records, the impact it has had on their lives, and what they plan for the future. The show also promises surprises, including visits from famous faces at the London HQ.

The first episode of What’s The Record? was released on Monday, 11 May, and is available to watch on YouTube and listen to on all major podcasting platforms. The inaugural episode features makeup artist and social media influencer Holly Murray, who set the record for the most rhinestones on the body with 74,880 when she appeared on the Italian TV show Lo Show dei Record last year.

Exciting Guest Lineup

Karen Gilchrist, VP of TV & Digital at GWR, shared her excitement about the new podcast: “We are so excited to launch our new podcast and to share stories of our amazing record holders. It’s an opportunity for audiences to get to know some of the people who work hard behind the scenes at Guinness World Records in a new and relaxed environment.”

She added, “Expect lots of laughter, unexpected revelations and the odd record attempt along the way. For many years I’ve wanted to lift the curtain on some of the people who make the magic happen here at Guinness World Records. I really hope audiences will be able to relate to the team and come up with lots of ideas for who we should interview next.”
