Gallagher Brothers Enter Sunday Times Rich List for First Time After £400m Oasis Tour

Oasis Brothers Make Their Mark on the Sunday Times Rich List

Noel and Liam Gallagher have made a significant entry into the Sunday Times Rich List for the first time, thanks to the immense success of their £400 million sell-out Oasis reunion tour. The siblings have an estimated joint wealth of £375 million, with each taking home at least £50 million from the 41 shows they performed between July and November.

Their inclusion in the list places them at number 11 among this year’s musicians and industry figures, joining notable names such as Sir Elton John, Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Sir Brian May. The Sunday Times Rich List highlights the wealthiest individuals in Britain, with Sir Leonard Blavatnik, the businessman who owns the majority of Warner Music Group, topping the list with a staggering £26.852 billion.

Paul McCartney remains the highest-placed musician on the list, with an estimated worth of £1.055 billion. Other musicians featured include Ed Sheeran, with £410 million; Harry Styles, with £235 million; Adele, with £172 million; and pop star Dua Lipa with a £150 million fortune. Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis and her family also made their debut on the list, with an estimated wealth of £400 million.

The Oasis reunion sparked excitement among fans, but it also led to controversy when some standard tickets in the UK and Ireland jumped from £148 to £355. This prompted the Government and the UK’s competition watchdog to pledge to investigate the use of dynamic pricing. When tickets for the 2025 tour were released, fans were left appalled as prices soared beyond £350, making it difficult for many to secure a seat at one of the highly anticipated gigs.

This month, Disney announced a new Oasis documentary created by Steven Knight, the mastermind behind Peaky Blinders. The film will be released on September 11 and will document the band’s massive 2025 comeback tour. It will also include the brothers’ first joint interview in 25 years.

A first look snap of the documentary shows the siblings in great spirits, with Liam appearing to tell Noel a joke and leaving him in stitches before taking to the stage. The brothers’ famously turbulent relationship led to Oasis splitting 15 years ago, following a series of backstage bust-ups, walkouts, and booze-fuelled arguments. However, last year they reunited for an epic 41-date world tour, which kicked off with a huge show at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in front of more than 70,000 fans.

The as-yet untitled film will also feature footage from the tour’s rehearsals as well as the sibling’s onstage and offstage shenanigans. The documentary is expected to replicate the style of Disney+ The Beatles Get Back film, offering a never-before-seen insight into the band.

Knight said: ‘I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people’. He added, ‘I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever. It is also the story of how music and songwriting can unite generations, cultures, countries and in a time of spite and division, give us all some reason to hope’.

The film is believed to be set to be the film of the decade, with Apple TV+ proposing huge money to bag the rights to this documentary. Facing competition from other streamers such as Amazon Prime and Netflix, Apple has thrown all their weight behind this one. Fans can expect it to be in the same style as the Beatles documentary, offering a unique glimpse into the band’s journey.
