Trump’s Strange Message to Rachel Duffy After White House Prayer Event

Donald Trump, 79, made headlines after reportedly referencing the wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy in a social media post. The post, shared on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, May 17, included a seemingly flirty message directed at Rachel Campos-Duffy, who is 54 years old and an alumna of The Real World: San Francisco.

In the post, Trump wrote, “I HOPE EVERYBODY AT REDEDICATE 250 IS HAVING A GOOD TIME.” This statement was made during the Rededicate 250 festival, which took place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The event is a day-long gathering focused on prayer and reflection.

“IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP, JUST HAVE OUR BEAUTIFUL, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, RACHAEL C.D., GIVE ME A CALL,” he added.

Rededicate 250 is described as a national day of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving on the National Mall. It marks the 250th anniversary of the United States. According to the event’s official website, it aims to celebrate God’s providence, reflect on the nation’s history, and rededicate America as “One Nation under God.”

Rachel Campos-Duffy and her husband, Sean Duffy, are set to star in a new reality show called The Great American Road Trip. The five-part series will be released for free on YouTube next month, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The couple, who have nine children, will travel across the country, visiting historic landmarks in Philadelphia, going snowmobiling in the Midwest, and meeting army veterans at a diner.

According to NPR, the production costs of the show were covered by major travel companies, including Toyota, Boeing, and United Airlines.

Sean and Rachel married in 1999 and have the following children: Evita (26), Xavier (24), Lucia-Belén (22), John-Paul (19), Paloma (18), Maria-Victoria (16), Margarita (12), Patrick (9), and Valentina (6).

The show has sparked some controversy. Some critics raised ethical concerns about the decision to film a reality series while holding a government position.

A nonprofit group called Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington filed a complaint with the Transportation Department’s Office of Inspector General. They alleged that Sean Duffy violated federal gift and travel rules by filming the show.

Duffy responded to the backlash on X, where he criticized those who disliked the trailer for his new series.

“The radical, miserable left has noticed our awesome Great American Road Trip trailer,” he began. “And they hate it.”

“It’s too wholesome. It’s too patriotic. It’s too joyful,” he continued. “They’re upset because they don’t want you to celebrate America! And they definitely don’t want you to teach your kids civics & patriotism. So they tell lies to undermine the mission.”

While the show aims to highlight American values, it has also drawn criticism from those who question the appropriateness of using public resources for such a project.

As the series prepares for its release, the debate over its purpose and ethics continues to unfold.
