A Hollywood Legend’s Journey Through Time
Linda Evans, a celebrated actress who has graced the screens of Hollywood for over six decades, is now 83 years old. Her career began in the 1960s with a guest appearance on Bachelor Father, where she first met John Forsythe, with whom she would later co-star in the iconic 1980s series Dynasty.
Evans’ breakthrough came with her role in The Big Valley, where she played Audra Barkley alongside Barbara Stanwyck. This role set the stage for her future success, leading to more prominent roles in television and film.
One of her most memorable performances was as Krystle Carrington opposite Joan Collins’ villainous character, Alexis Colby, in Dynasty. The show became a cultural phenomenon, and Evans’ portrayal of Krystle earned her widespread recognition. She remained on the show until 1989, just four months before its conclusion.
In 2009, Evans made a return to television by participating in the British cooking competition Hell’s Kitchen, where she won the title. Later, she appeared in the 2021 film Swan Song, which explores themes of aging and self-discovery. In an interview, she reflected on her journey through life, saying, “The number is high, but I see my age as an adventure. I’m excited to see what else is to come.”
Nostalgia and Reflection
This week, Evans shared a rare personal photo from the 1970s, capturing her in a blue swimsuit by a swimming pool. She captioned the post: “Long time ago… A photo in my blue swimsuit and such a beautiful memory from another chapter of my life. Good old memories.” The image stirred nostalgia among her fans, highlighting the many chapters of her life.
Evans currently resides in Tacoma, Washington, where she leads a quiet and fulfilling life. She has no children and lives alone, focusing on special projects that bring her joy. In 2019, she was drawn to a script written by filmmaker Todd Stephens, which led her to appear in Swan Song.
Her reflections on aging have been insightful. She spoke about the value of self-love, saying, “It’s one of the lovely things about getting older. Truly loving myself has been very valuable to me — it doesn’t matter how late in life it happened.” She also mentioned that if she could go back to her 20s, she would do everything differently, except for two things: buying her house in Tacoma and never giving up the search for love.
A Life of Love and Challenges
Evans has been married twice in her life. Her first marriage was to John Derek, a multitalented actor and director, from 1968 to 1974. After their divorce, she married Stan Herman, an actor known for his role in Sexual Intent, until their separation in 1979.
She has no children and has lived a peaceful life by herself. Her last publicly known relationship began in 1989 when she dated Greek composer Yanni. Their relationship lasted nearly a decade, ending in 1998. Yanni once praised her, saying, “Linda is one of the most amazing human beings I’ve ever met in my life.”
Evans continues to share her thoughts on aging and life through social media. In one of her posts, she wrote: “When you get to be my age, you relish each decade of your life with a sense of wonder and awe for every summer that comes again. The escapades and adventures may take on new meaning.”
