Tweenage rebellion shocks popstar into silence

Justin Bieber’s Sydney Show Ends in Chaos

Justin Bieber, the teenage pop sensation, caused a frenzy among fans in Sydney when his scheduled three-song live performance on Channel Seven’s Sunrise was cancelled. The event, which was meant to be a morning gig at 7:40 am, turned into a chaotic scene as thousands of fans, many of whom had camped overnight in The Rocks, gathered for a glimpse of their idol.

The crowd, estimated to be around 5,000 strong, grew unruly and larger than expected, leading to several injuries. Some fans were carried away on stretchers, and police had to be called in to manage the situation. Despite the cancellation, the teenaged crowd didn’t give up easily. They swarmed to the Seven studios hoping to catch a glimpse of Bieber, who eventually made an unexpected appearance.

Bieber sneaked into the studio unnoticed and greeted fans from behind a window before performing his hit song “Baby.” This moment of surprise and delight added to the excitement, even though the official performance had been called off.

Bieber, known for his massive following among teenagers, is currently in Sydney for a promotional visit to promote his debut album, which has already reached number one in the US. At just 16 years old, he is the youngest solo male artist to achieve this feat since Stevie Wonder in 1963. His rise to fame began through YouTube, where his mother started posting videos of him singing at talent contests. These videos quickly went viral, leading to a record deal with Usher’s label.

As a social media powerhouse, Bieber has over 2 million Twitter followers and remains a top trending topic almost daily. However, his recent visit to Australia left some fans disappointed after he cancelled a scheduled interview with Melbourne Life. In response to the warm welcome from Australian fans, Bieber tweeted, “Thank-you for such an amazing warm welcome Australia … that was amazing.” In return, Melbourne Life humorously suggested he should be grounded and sent to bed without any PlayStation.

Dogs Victoria Show Brings Joy to Canine Enthusiasts

In a contrast to the chaos of Bieber’s event, Melbourne’s Dogs Victoria show at Federation Square brought joy and excitement to canine enthusiasts. The Meet the Dogs of Melbourne event showcased 25 dog breeds, each displaying their unique characteristics and charm. Some dogs were dressed in stylish doggy-ware, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Elizabeth White, the chief executive of Dogs Victoria, emphasized the importance of showcasing well-socialized and trained dogs. She stated, “We often see a lot of negative press about dogs. Today, we showed the public some well-socialised dogs that are cared for and well trained.”

Kerryn Gale, who is assisted by her French bulldog Truffle, shared her experience with registered charity AWARE. She highlighted the challenges of having a legally prescribed assistant dog, explaining that many people are unaware of the rights these animals have. “It’s frustrating when I try to get a taxi – nobody knows what a legally prescribed assistant dog is,” she said.

Truffle, according to Gale, helps her manage her depression. “Truffle has taught me how to train the ‘black dog’.” This touching story highlights the emotional support that service dogs can provide.

From Maltese terriers to King Charles spaniels, the event featured a variety of dogs participating in sports such as obedience and agility demonstrations. After much discussion, the audience voted the golden retriever as the most popular dog of the day.
