A Historic Chair from a Pop Culture Moment
A seemingly ordinary piece of furniture has become the center of attention after it was used by one of the world’s most famous musicians during a high-profile NBA game. The chair, which Taylor Swift sat on while watching the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals, is now up for auction, drawing interest from fans and collectors alike.
The event took place on May 23, when Swift joined her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. Although the Cavaliers did not manage to make history that night, the chair they occupied might do so through its upcoming sale.
The Realest, an online marketplace, currently lists the chair with a description that highlights its unique provenance. It reads: “Used courtside during Eastern Conference Finals Game 3 at Rocket Arena, this chair was occupied by one of the biggest music artists in the world and a 14-time Grammy Award winner during one of the most widely followed games of the NBA Playoffs.” At the time of writing, the highest bid stands at $6,000, with bidders having over a week to submit their offers.
The listing continues: “Sourced from the courtside seating area at Rocket Arena, this chair serves as a tangible artifact from a nationally celebrated postseason event. Its connection to one of the world’s most recognizable entertainers adds a distinctive layer of provenance to an item tied directly to the atmosphere and excitement of the 2026 Eastern Conference Finals, further reflecting the Cavaliers’ position at the intersection of sports and pop culture.”

This unusual auction comes just weeks after reports surfaced that Swift and Kelce are planning to get married at Madison Square Garden this summer. The iconic venue, known for hosting concerts and major sporting events, can accommodate up to 22,000 people. However, the exact number of guests attending the wedding remains unclear.
According to an insider, the couple had previously considered Casa Cipriani, a luxury private members club in Manhattan, as a potential wedding location. While it may still be used for a private celebration, the main ceremony is expected to take place at MSG.

The NYPD is already in discussions about securing the venue ahead of the wedding, which is anticipated to occur on Friday, July 3.
During her visit to Ohio, Swift was seen shielding her eyes as Kelce made a spectacle of himself during Game 3 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals. With his team trailing, the NFL star was captured on the jumbotron chugging a can of Garage Beer, the brand he co-owns with his brother Jason Kelce. The act appeared to be aimed at energizing the crowd and promoting the lager.
While the Cleveland fans were thrilled by the antics, Swift seemed uncomfortable, visibly squirming and covering her eyes as she watched her fiancé show off for the audience.
In the following week, Jason Kelce jokingly criticized the stunt on their podcast, New Heights, calling it “classless.” However, Travis defended his actions, insisting that the chug was “smooth” and “classy,” noting that he didn’t spill a drop or crush the can. He explained that the move was intended to boost the energy in the arena during a tough game.
