Nicole Eggert’s Cancer Battle: Bruised but Resilient After Major Surgery

Nicole Eggert Undergoes Hysterectomy Amid Ongoing Cancer Battle

Former Baywatch star Nicole Eggert is bravely confronting a significant health challenge, revealing on Thursday, March 19, that she has undergone a hysterectomy. This decision comes after receiving concerning news that her cancer may be spreading. Eggert was initially diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer in December 2023.

The actress shared a candid post on Instagram, accompanied by a selfie that showed her lifting her T-shirt to reveal a bruised abdomen following the surgery. “We can give in to our fear and anxiety, or we can surrender to this great mystery with courage. What a journey,” she captioned the image. She further explained, “Test results showed early signs of more cancer. I am grateful to my doctors for keeping such a close eye on me 🙏 Full Hysterectomy eliminates at least 7 different types of cancers.”

This latest procedure follows a series of treatments Eggert has undergone since her initial cancer diagnosis in 2023. She previously underwent a mastectomy, and in August 2025, she had her second breast removed.

In November 2025, Eggert had expressed optimism about her recovery, stating, “I’m good right now. I’m testing negative for any disease. So, that’s fabulous.” She elaborated on the ongoing nature of her health journey, describing it as a “month-to-month thing.” She continued, “So it’s like, I get a clear bill of health, and then I enjoy the rest of the month, and then we do it all over again. So you know, it never kind of ends. It’s always this journey. But I am not complaining. So far, everything is still looking good and markers are clear.”

The Journey Begins: Noticing the Signs

Eggert first brought her cancer diagnosis to public attention in January 2024. Her health concerns began when she noticed significant weight gain over a three-month period, coupled with “terrible pain” in one of her breasts and the discovery of a palpable lump. This prompted her to seek medical attention.

“It really was throbbing and hurting,” she recalled in an interview. “I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at. But the problem was I just couldn’t get an appointment. Everything was booked. So I had to wait until the end of November to get it done.”

Navigating the Emotional Toll

The Blown Away alum has been open about the emotional and physical toll her health battle has taken. “This journey’s been rough for me. This hasn’t been a breezy sale through life,” she admitted. Despite the challenges, she finds solace in inspirational messages, stating, “I always read inspirational quotes and corny stuff, but it gets me through.”

Prior to her initial procedures, Eggert described the anxiety she experienced upon feeling a lump in her chest. “I can definitely feel it. It’s there. It needs to be taken out,” she expressed at the time. The uncertainty surrounding the treatment plan added to her distress: “So it’s just a matter of do I have to do treatment before the surgery or can they perform the surgery and then I do the treatment after.” She candidly shared her moments of panic, saying, “I have panics where I’m like, just get this out of me. You sit there and it’s in you and you’re like, every second that passes and it’s inside of me. It’s growing, and you’re just like, you just want it out.”

Eggert’s ongoing commitment to sharing her experience highlights the realities of living with cancer and the strength required to navigate complex medical treatments and emotional challenges.
