Recent reports suggest that two prominent royal marriages, those of Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and her sister Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, are facing significant pressure. The turmoil appears to be a direct consequence of the ongoing fallout from scandals involving their father, Prince Andrew.
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, often referred to as “Edo,” was recently photographed on a solo trip to Florida, dressed impeccably in a pastel pink suit and relaxing under a striped umbrella. This image of the Italian businessman, known for his suave demeanour, surfaced just days before Prince Andrew’s arrest in February. Over a month later, amidst whispers that Edo is attempting to distance himself from the controversy surrounding his in-laws, claims have emerged of a “tear-stricken call” between him and Princess Beatrice.
An insider speaking to Woman’s Day expressed concern for the marriage, stating, “Beatrice is worried about her marriage. She knows Edo’s pulling away and she’s worried he’s losing interest now her Royal shine is fading.” According to this source, the tense conversation saw Beatrice urging Edo to return home to offer support during what has become a significant family crisis.
“She knows he’d be under enormous pressure from his family to stay away from the York scandal, but they have two kids together,” the insider elaborated.
Edo’s February excursion to Florida was reportedly for professional reasons, involving “exchanging ideas with peers across the industry.” Given his role as a businessman, it’s understandable that he might be concerned about the potential impact of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s association with Jeffrey Epstein on his property design company, Banda.
The source further commented on Edo’s personality, noting, “The problem with Edo is he’s very proud and can’t take this hit on his reputation that’s none of his doing.” This frustration, the insider suggested, leaves the father feeling “angry about it all.”
Eugenie and Jack: Navigating the Storm
Princess Beatrice is not the only one reportedly experiencing marital difficulties. Recent photographs have emerged of her sister, Princess Eugenie, appearing visibly upset during a dinner with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. These images have fuelled speculation that their marriage is also under strain.
A source close to the Daily Mail indicated that while Jack Brooksbank’s “code of honour” would prevent him from “completely deserting Andrew and Sarah,” he has steadfastly refused to “step into the line of fire himself.” The priority, it seems, lies with his immediate family.
“His first loyalty has to be to his wife and their two young children,” the source explained. “The whole sordid affair has already brought them a great deal of unwarranted attention and he won’t do anything to increase that.”
Jack, who heads a successful consultancy firm, is reportedly apprehensive about him and Eugenie becoming “tainted by association” due to the ongoing scandal. The source added, “Jack has worked very hard building his business, and it’s going well so the last thing he needs is for the Epstein scandal to taint that. He will do everything he can to keep his head below the parapet because of that.”
Consequently, the couple is said to be “resisting any suggestion” from Sarah Ferguson that she might move in with them.
“Because to be frank Sarah is difficult to live with and they don’t want the responsibility of looking after her at the moment,” the source continued. “That’s not to say they are not concerned about her welfare – they just don’t actually want her to be living with them, even temporarily.”

She really wants to almost naively see the good in people and will turn a blind eye to uncomfortable truths – that is why she was blind to her father’s behaviour, and the same is true of her belief in Edo.”
The desire to maintain the marriage is strong. “She wants to stay together, but he seems more and more distracted by work and travel. Just when she needs him most, he’s been pulling away,” the source added.
Beatrice, who shares two daughters, Sienna and Athena, with Edoardo, is reportedly “desperate to hold things together.” However, insiders suggest she has limited capacity to focus solely on her husband’s needs at this time.
“He needs attention, he’s one of those men,” an insider revealed to the Daily Mail regarding Edoardo. “Beatrice feels very raw and beside herself on so many levels.”
