Beyond Chelsea: The Bitter Feud Between Former Co-Stars Escalates
The supposed camaraderie between former Made In Chelsea stars Lucy Watson and Rosie Fortescue has been spectacularly shattered, with a recent social media war of words igniting after the airing of the latest episodes of their E4 spin-off, Beyond Chelsea. What began as subtle jabs has now escalated into a full-blown public spat, revealing a deep-seated animosity that has been simmering beneath the surface.
The tension between the two personalities was already palpable in the new series, particularly during scenes where they were forced to put aside their differences to celebrate their mutual friend, Binky Felstead. However, it appears that any attempts at maintaining a united front have crumbled, with both women using their Instagram Stories to air their grievances.
A Vegan Tasting and a Missed Invitation
One of the primary catalysts for the recent public fallout was a vegan tasting event hosted by Lucy. Rosie’s decision to skip the event, opting instead for a massage and a steak, did not sit well with Lucy. She expressed her disappointment and frustration to the cameras, stating, “She doesn’t give a st, it’s a choice. She doesn’t want to be supportive. She doesn’t want to be nice. She doesn’t want to be friendly. Fine we won’t be. Fk you.”

Lucy’s feelings were further amplified when she discovered Rosie’s absence at the event itself. This perceived lack of support for her endeavours has led Lucy to publicly accuse Rosie of “not supporting women,” a sentiment that aired during episode two of Beyond Chelsea.

In response to Lucy’s accusations and the implication that she actively chooses not to be supportive, Rosie took to her Instagram Stories to present her side of the story. She shared a screenshot of her last WhatsApp conversation with Lucy, dating back to November 2024, where she had been sent a “look book” to share with a friend for gifting purposes related to Lucy’s brand. Rosie vehemently denied being invited to the vegan tasting event in the first place, asserting, “Also wasn’t invited to the vegan tasting and last message between us is sending her look book for me to send to a friend for gifting for her brand. Don’t ever say I don’t support women!”
Lucy, in turn, posted a thinly veiled jab on her own story, expressing gratitude to those who attended her event. She wrote, “So grateful to everyone who came and supported me with the recipe tasting! Vegan or not the open mindedness was so refreshing #BeyondChelsea.” This response subtly highlighted her perception of Rosie’s closed-mindedness.
Poetry, Personal Lives, and Public Perceptions
The friction between the two women extends beyond the vegan tasting. Lucy’s comments about a poem Rosie read at Binky’s 35th birthday lunch, which was featured at the end of the first episode, also caused a stir. After Rosie delivered the heartfelt poem, the show cut to Lucy’s rather unimpressed reaction. “It was sickly sweet, it’s her 35th birthday. Not her wedding!” Lucy declared.

Rosie was quick to defend the poem and its author, a friend named Tally. She wrote, “My girl @pinky_studio_by_tally wrote this beautiful poem for @binkyfelstead birthday and she’s one of the most talent, interesting, hard-working and funny women I know. To laugh at her talent is cheap and crass. Enough said.” This defence underscored Rosie’s loyalty to her friends and her disapproval of Lucy’s dismissive attitude.
Furthermore, Rosie indicated that she feels uncomfortable discussing her personal life with Lucy, whom she no longer considers a friend. She has reportedly shut down questions about her love life, further signalling the breakdown in their relationship.

Behind the Scenes of Beyond Chelsea
The animosity between Lucy and Rosie has been a recurring theme, with reports suggesting a deep-seated dislike between them for some time. The first series of Beyond Chelsea, which saw the trio invite cameras back into their lives after their time on the original Made In Chelsea, was reportedly fraught with tension. A source close to the show revealed at the time that Rosie and Lucy “hate each other’s guts,” which presented significant challenges for filming.
The new incarnation of the show was intended to showcase the women’s growth and maturity, moving away from the petty squabbles of their youth. However, the source explained, “Rosie and Lucy can barely stand to be in the same room as one another, which made shooting the show a bit of a nightmare. The tension between the pair is so obvious. This is supposed to be a series about three friends yet it is anything but.” The insider concluded, “I think it is fair to say there is no love lost between Rosie and Lucy.”
The second series of Beyond Chelsea has continued to pull back the curtain on the lives of these three TV personalities as they navigate motherhood, family, relationships, and their public profiles. While the series aims to showcase their personal and professional lives, the undeniable friction between Lucy and Rosie remains a central, albeit uncomfortable, element for viewers to observe. The inclusion of familiar faces from Made In Chelsea‘s past, such as Ollie Locke and Tiff Watson, was also intended to bolster the series, but it appears many former cast members have moved on from the show’s orbit, making such cameos less impactful than producers might have hoped.
