Samsung has unveiled the 32-inch Odyssey G8 G80HS gaming monitor in Germany, available at a price of €1,499. The shipping process is scheduled to begin on June 19.

According to Samsung, the Odyssey G8 is the world’s first 6K gaming monitor. This 32-inch display features a 6K (6144 x 3456) IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. It also offers a 3K (3072 x 1728) resolution mode that supports an ultra-fast 330Hz refresh rate.
The Odyssey G8 G80HS delivers a high pixel density of 224 PPI, ensuring sharper image quality. It supports high dynamic range (HDR) with HDR10+ Gaming, which enhances brightness and contrast in real-time. This feature allows for clearer representation of dark shadows and bright highlights. The screen covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut, providing vibrant colors across a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees.
The monitor boasts a 1ms GtG response time, ensuring smooth motion handling. It is compatible with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium, which helps reduce screen tearing. The device also includes a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio and a peak brightness of 350 nits.
Samsung has equipped the Odyssey G8 with multiple connectivity options. It features two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1, and a USB hub with several ports. The ergonomic stand allows for height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, enhancing comfort during extended gaming sessions. Although the monitor does not have built-in speakers, it includes a headphone jack for external audio solutions.
The Odyssey G8 features a sleek black finish and is compatible with VESA mounting. It weighs 7.4 kg with the stand and comes with a factory calibration report for accurate performance right out of the box.
