Jenna Bush Hager shared some lighthearted moments about her dancing abilities during an episode of TODAY With Jenna & Sheinelle. The show, which features her and co-host Sheinelle Jones, often includes fun segments that highlight their personalities and interactions.
During the May 1 episode, Jones took on the role of impersonating Bush Hager’s dance moves. “You know your friends when you can imitate the other person,” Jones said. “Jenna has different modes of operation. She has the ‘boss, I’ve got it going on’ mode. She has the ‘oh, it’s time to party’ mode.”
Bush Hager, 44, asked which mode was her favorite, and Jones quickly replied, “Party mode.” “Do you want party mode?” Jones asked before getting out of her chair and moving her hips. “How’s this? Ow!”
Bush Hager laughed heartily as Jones took a bow. “That’s a good one,” she praised. “That’s a good one. But do I look constipated every time I dance? I look as though I need Miralax.”
Bush Hager then mimicked Jones, including her accent. “Amen…the truth of the matter…frankly…all things saying, the truth of the matter is for me…for me…Amen,” she said, putting her hands on her heart. Her friend couldn’t stop laughing. “I don’t notice that I do it. She’s like, ‘You’re saying Amen again.’ Did I say it?” Jones questioned.
Bush Hager is known for being open and expressive on air. A few days earlier, during the April 29 episode, she shared details about her first kiss during a game of “Spy the Lie” with Jones, judged by actor Wilmer Valderrama.
“My first kiss was during a game of Spin the Bottle, and unfortunately, the boy’s breath tasted like Cheetos,” she revealed. “Tasted, huh?” Jones asked. “Well, smelled and tasted,” Bush Hager clarified.
Jones repeated the same statement with emphasis to convince Valderrama. Bush Hager then joked about whether she still gets triggered by bottles today. “I don’t get triggered because I played willingly…” she said. “It wasn’t ‘7 Minutes in Heaven,’ because that might be triggering.”
Valderrama asked if the Secret Service was present at the time, but Bush Hager confirmed she was too young to have security. He believed she was telling the truth. “I was such a good girl. I would not have been playing Spin the Bottle!” Jones exclaimed.
The first kiss wasn’t with Bush Hager’s current husband, Henry Hager, whom she often talks about on her show. During the April 10 episode, she joked about how he used to leave her notes when they went bed shopping.
“When Henry and I first got married, we walked, we lived in Baltimore, to the Mattress Giant down the street. We bought the ‘celebrity.’ It was a Tempur-Pedic…” she recounted. “We put some money down…we paid it off. He would write things like, ‘Can’t wait to…’ That sounds weird.”
Bush Hager finished with a laugh, “I wasn’t being nasty. We love to be horizontal.”
