Cadillac Lyriq’s New Pricing in Australia
Cadillac has made the reduced price of its Lyriq mid-size electric SUV permanent in Australia. Initially, the price was lowered as part of a retail offer earlier this year, but it is now set at a fixed rate.
The Cadillac Lyriq is now available from $90,000 before on-road costs or $95,000 drive-away, regardless of whether you choose the Luxury or Sport trim. This represents a significant drop of $32,000 from its original launch price. The new pricing places the Lyriq below the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold for ‘fuel-efficient vehicles’. As a result, if you purchase a Lyriq using a novated lease, it is exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
Key Features and Specifications
The Lyriq is positioned between the smaller Optiq, priced at $80,000 before on-road costs, and the larger Vistiq, which starts at $116,000 before on-road costs. There have been no changes to the powertrain or standard equipment in the Lyriq.
Power is delivered by a dual-electric motor setup with a total system output of 388kW. The motors are powered by a 102kWh lithium-ion battery, which allows for a claimed range of up to 530km based on WLTP testing.
Standard equipment includes:
- 21-inch alloy wheels
- LED lights
- A panoramic glass sunroof
- Power tailgate
- A 33-inch digital screen setup
- A 19-speaker AKG sound system
- Interior ambient lighting
- Leather upholstery with heated and ventilated front seats featuring a massage function, plus heated and ventilated outboard rear seats

Future Models and Market Expansion
Cadillac has previously confirmed that the high-performance Lyriq-V will be coming to Australia in 2026. However, it remains unclear if this timeline is still valid. Cadillac Australia has been contacted, and updates will be provided once a response is received.
The iconic American carmaker, which operates under the General Motors (GM) umbrella, launched in Australia last year as an EV-only brand. The Lyriq was its first offering and is now followed by the larger Vistiq and smaller Optiq EVs.

Production and Sales Strategy
All Cadillac cars sold in Australia are produced in right-hand drive at the factory. This differs from some other GM models that are converted from left- to right-hand drive locally by Walkinshaw.
Despite being in the Australian market for over 12 months, Cadillac does not officially report its sales figures. Currently, the brand has an ‘Experience Centre’ in Sydney and a test drive location in Melbourne. Plans are underway to open a new dealer in Brisbane during the first half of 2026, as well as one in Melbourne.
