Rachel Gilmore’s Glamorous Hair Transformation and Emotional Reunion
Rachel Gilmore, the beloved MAFS bride, has recently made headlines with a stunning hair transformation that has left fans in awe. The 35-year-old, who gained a huge following during her time on the hit Channel Nine reality series Married At First Sight, recently shared a video of her new look on social media. The emotional fallout from their breakup was evident when Rachel attended the Married At First Sight Final Dinner Party in Sydney, where she was reduced to tears watching heartbreaking scenes of herself revealing the split while Steven sat just metres away.
The cast reunited at the Ovolo Hotel in Woolloomooloo to watch an episode, which proved to be an emotional experience for Rachel. As the cast watched a throwback Commitment Ceremony scene, Rachel recalled her fears about the relationship. In the clip, she explained her concerns to the experts: “I’m scared that Steven will go back to his life in Sydney, and it’s just going to be easier for him to let me go.”
She continued, “Because he is time poor and he has his business, and so it might be a burden to try and maintain our relationship with me. So, he might just let me go. So, yeah, that’s my fear.”
As the scene played out, Rachel was overwhelmed with emotion, leaning on her friend Sam Stanton for support as she wiped tears from her eyes. Meanwhile, Steven, sitting just metres from his former bride, kept his focus firmly on the screen, avoiding eye contact with Rachel.
Rachel previously shared the heartbreaking truth behind their split with the Daily Mail. Reliving their Final Vows has been a bittersweet experience for her, as she admitted the emotional scenes still hit hard.
“I said yes at the end, it was a really beautiful moment to relive,” she said. “It just reminded me of how much I was in love with Steven and how much he meant to me… and how much I was willing to give up to be with him.”
While viewers watched their love story play out on screen, Rachel was already dealing with the painful reality behind the scenes. “It’s just really hard to get to this point… rewatching it knowing the total outcome,” she admitted.
According to Rachel, the cracks in their relationship began almost immediately after filming wrapped. Despite making big promises about building a future together, Steven returned to his normal life in Sydney and never truly showed up for her.
