Rashford hints at Man Utd return after Barcelona’s La Liga triumph

Manchester United’s loanee, Marcus Rashford, has described winning the La Liga title as the “perfect ending” to his time at Barcelona.

Rashford played a key role in Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Real Madrid on Sunday, which secured their 29th La Liga title with three games remaining. The England international opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick within the first ten minutes, and Ferran Torres added a second goal as Hansi Flick’s team dominated the El Clasico clash at the Nou Camp.

Despite the win, Barcelona remains seven league titles behind record holders Real Madrid. After the match, Rashford expressed his satisfaction with the outcome but also hinted that his future at the club is uncertain.

“I want this to be the perfect way to end,” Rashford said. “I’m very happy, I just want to enjoy today. I live in the moment. At the end of the season, we will see. I came here to win, and we did that, so I’m very happy. It’s an incredible feeling.”

He continued: “The feeling is amazing. It’s been a long season with ups and downs, but I think we deserved to win [La Liga].”

When asked if he would still be at Barcelona for the next season, Rashford responded: “I don’t know. I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay. We will see. I came here to win. I want to win as many things as I can.”

“This is one more to add to this. This is a wonderful team; they’re going to win so much in the future. To be a part of that would be special.”

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan last summer after spending the second half of the previous season at Aston Villa. The 28-year-old made over 400 appearances for his boyhood club, Manchester United, but fell down the pecking order under former manager Ruben Amorim.

There have been suggestions that Michael Carrick may attempt to bring Rashford back to Old Trafford if he takes charge of the club permanently at the end of the season. However, Rashford has consistently expressed his desire to sign a permanent deal with Barcelona.

Head coach Hansi Flick has also shown support for Rashford’s potential long-term future at the club. “I’m very happy with Marcus,” Flick said after Barcelona’s title win. “He has shown his quality and he scored an important goal. I can’t say anything about his future, we have to focus on the matches until the end of the season.”
