iQOO has introduced a new set of budget-friendly wireless earbuds in China, named the iQOO TWS 5i. These earbuds are designed to offer extended battery life along with several features tailored for gaming enthusiasts.
Similar to its predecessor, the TWS 3i, the TWS 5i features 10mm drivers. The earbuds support iQOO’s proprietary “Monster Sound” audio processing technology, which dynamically adjusts the audio output based on the type of game being played. Additionally, they include spatial audio support with multiple sound modes for games, movies, and general media playback.
The company claims that the earbuds can achieve a latency as low as 42ms via Bluetooth 5.4, which should significantly reduce any noticeable audio delay during fast-paced games such as shooters or racing titles.
In terms of design, the TWS 5i maintains a lightweight build. Each earbud weighs approximately 4.2 grams, suggesting that comfort is a key focus, especially for extended gaming sessions or regular use.
Battery life is another standout feature for this price range. iQOO states that the earbuds can provide up to 11.5 hours of playback on a single charge, with the charging case extending total usage to around 50 hours. Talk time is slightly lower, estimated at about seven hours.
The earbuds also include AI-based call noise reduction, IP54 dust and splash resistance, and the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously.
However, there are some trade-offs. Features like active noise cancellation are not included, which is expected given the pricing. iQOO appears to be focusing on essential features that appeal to casual gamers and everyday users rather than competing directly with more expensive models.
Priced at 119 yuan, the TWS 5i seems to be positioned more as a practical daily-use pair with gaming enhancements rather than a high-end audio-focused product. However, strong battery life remains a critical factor in the budget segment, and the TWS 5i could attract significant attention from younger users and mobile gamers.
Pricing:
The TWS 5i is available in China for 119 yuan, which is approximately €15 or ₹1,700 based on current exchange rates. It is already available for purchase. As of now, iQOO has not announced any plans for an international release.
