Bella Hadid and Heidi Klum Shine at La Bataille de Gaulle Cannes Premiere

Supermodels Shine at Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival has once again become the spotlight for some of the world’s most iconic supermodels. On Wednesday night, Bella Hadid and Heidi Klum were among the stars who graced the red carpet for the premiere of La Bataille de Gaulle, L’Age de Fer. The event was a dazzling display of style and elegance, with each model bringing their own unique flair to the occasion.

Bella Hadid, 29, made a striking entrance in a white lace mermaid gown that plunged down to her navel. She opted for a bold look by going braless, with the dress held together by a black brooch. Her choice was both daring and elegant, capturing the attention of photographers and fans alike.

Heidi Klum, 52, turned heads in a blue gown paired with black heels. She arrived alongside her husband, Tom Kaulitz, 36, adding a touch of glamour to the evening. Meanwhile, Irina Shayk, 40, exuded sophistication in a champagne-coloured silk dress, while Bar Refaeli, 40, dazzled in a strapless bejewelled dress.

Ruth Wilson, 44, commanded attention in a pink satin floral gown featuring voluminous sleeves. Her outfit was a standout moment of the night, showcasing her timeless beauty and style.

Zara McDermott Faces Deepfake Drama

Amidst the glamour, former Love Island star Zara McDermott faced a different kind of challenge. Recently, she became the victim of an AI deepfake campaign that spread false information about her personal life. The controversy began after she was pictured accepting a platonic kiss from Joey Essex at an event, which sparked wild cheating rumours.

The innocent exchange also led to the creation of a deepfake video featuring Zara and her co-star locked in a passionate embrace. Despite the online drama, Zara remained composed and continued to attend high-profile events, including the premiere of La Bataille de Gaulle, L’Age de Fer.

Zara made a showstopping appearance in a plunging white gown with a dramatic train, proving that she could still command the red carpet despite the challenges she faced. Earlier in the day, she was seen enjoying the sunshine in a Muma World Midori Stellio minidress and a Dolce & Gabbana Lucia shoulder bag.

Demi Moore Joins Cannes Jury

This year’s Cannes Film Festival saw the addition of Demi Moore to the esteemed jury panel. Alongside Hamnet director Chloé Zhao and actor Stellan Skarsgård, Moore joined a nine-member jury that will evaluate the films competing for awards this year.

South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook serves as the president of the jury, with other members including Irish-Ethiopian actor Ruth Negga, Belgian director Laura Wandel, Chilean director Diego Céspedes, Ivorian American actor Isaach De Bankolé, and Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty.

Speaking at the opening press conference, Moore expressed her excitement about being part of the festival. She described the experience as “tremendously honoured” and said it felt like a “beautiful experience” surrounded by cinema lovers.

Honoring Peter Jackson

In a special tribute, this year’s Cannes Film Festival will honor filmmaker Peter Jackson with a Palme d’Or. Organizers announced Jackson as a recipient in March, praising his work for blending Hollywood blockbusters with artistic vision and technological innovation.

Jackson, known for directing The Lord of the Rings trilogy, called the honor “one of the greatest privileges of my career.” Last year, the festival awarded honorary Palme d’Or prizes to Robert De Niro and Denzel Washington.

This year’s edition of the Cannes Film Festival will run for twelve days, from May 12 to May 23.
