A Heated Moment on The View
Whoopi Goldberg, known for her sharp wit and unfiltered opinions, found herself in a tense situation during a recent episode of The View. On the Tuesday, June 2, episode, the 70-year-old host was visibly frustrated as her co-hosts repeatedly interrupted her during a discussion about whether pickleball qualifies as a real sport.
During the “Hot Topics” segment, Ana Navarro expressed her frustration, saying, “I feel attacked here,” while Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that the sport is “harder than it looks.” Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin tried to contribute their perspectives, but Goldberg struggled to get her point across.
Finally, after Navarro made a comment, Goldberg interjected, “But, I say to you people…” before cutting in with a loud, “Listen, hush up! Let me finish so I can close the thing up!” She then threw her cue cards in a moment of exasperation. Navarro laughed and joked that she would likely be the subject of headlines the next day due to the outburst.
This wasn’t the first time Goldberg has sparked controversy on The View. Earlier, on the Wednesday, May 27, episode, tensions flared when co-host Joy Behar questioned Goldberg’s claim that she once weighed 300 pounds. “No you did not,” Behar said, while Goldberg insisted, “Yes I did!”
Behar pressed further, asking, “When was that? Since I’ve known you?” Goldberg responded by explaining that during the 2022 film Till, she weighed 279 pounds and looked like “five people.” When Behar asked how that could be, Goldberg replied, “It’s hanging, you just don’t see it!”
Goldberg went on to discuss the challenges of weight loss, stating, “My point is, people get mad at you because you did something they want to do, but they don’t have the impetus yet, they don’t know how to get it there, resources, it’s all kinds of stuff.”

Goldberg is no stranger to expressing her political views, and she recently took aim at male politicians during the Monday, June 1, episode. She joked about the likelihood of scandals involving men, saying, “Baby, these men are having the hardest time. It doesn’t even matter what side of the fence you’re on.”
She continued, “These men are just whippin’ and racin’ all through the place.” When Alyssa Farah Griffin asked, “Are men OK?” Goldberg responded, “I just thought, no shade gentlemen, but it just feels like y’all are out of control. Every time we turn around somebody got somebody else up against a wall, in the bed. What is happening?”
