Angelina Jolie and Her Six Children
Angelina Jolie is a globally recognized actress, director, and humanitarian. Known for her roles in films such as Mr and Mrs Smith, Girl, Interrupted, and Salt, she has also been deeply involved in various charitable causes over the years. In addition to her career, she is the proud mother of six children. In an interview with Vogue in September 2023, she shared how becoming a mother changed her life.
“I was 26 when I became a mother,” she said. “My entire life changed. Having children saved me — and taught me to be in this world differently. I think, recently, I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them.” While she didn’t explicitly mention it, her comments likely allude to her highly-publicised divorce from Brad Pitt and the ongoing custody battle with him.

She described her relationship with her children as one of love and guidance. “They’re better than me, because you want your children to be. Of course, I’m the mother, and hopefully that safe place for them and that stability. But I’m also the one that they laugh at — and I see them taking over so many different aspects of our family.”
But who are these six children, and what are they doing now?
Maddox Chivan Jolie
Maddox was born on August 5, 2001, in Battambang, Cambodia. He was seven months old when Angelina adopted him in early 2002 while filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. She felt an immediate connection with him during a visit to the orphanage where he lived.
At the time, Angelina was married to Billy Bob Thorton, and she raised Maddox as a single mother after their split. However, in 2005, Brad Pitt entered the picture and adopted Maddox too. As of 2024, following Angelina and Brad’s separation in 2016 and eventual divorce in 2019, Maddox is estranged from his father.
He studied at Yonsei University in South Korea, majoring in Life Sciences and Biotechnology, and graduated in 2023. As of 2026, he is 24 years old and building a career in his mother’s footsteps. He made a surprising move by dropping the last name Pitt for his professional credits, debuting in Angelina’s film Couture.

Zahara Marley Jolie
Zahara was born on January 8, 2005, in Hawassa, Ethiopia, but wasn’t adopted until she was five months old. Angelina and Brad both adopted her in July 2005, bringing her back to the US. At the time, Maddox instantly took to his baby sister.
In 2023, Zahara publicly dropped her father’s last name from her own during her induction into the sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha at Spelman College, where she continues to study today. The now 21-year-old paid tribute to her mother in a heartfelt speech about mother-daughter relationships.
“When I was asked today to speak on the value of mother-daughter relationships, it felt challenging to find the words,” she admitted. “Not challenging because I don’t value it, but because my mom and I have a unique, almost kindred relationship that could be hard to put into words.”
She reflected on the values she was raised with alongside her five siblings: “Helping others, being kind and always striving for growth as people.”

Shiloh Nouvel Jolie
Shiloh was born on May 27, 2006, as the first biological child of Angelina and Brad. Currently 19 years old, she regularly attends the elite dance studio Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. Following her 18th birthday, her petition to remove her father’s surname from hers was approved.

Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt
Pax was born on November 29, 2003, in Vietnam, but spent the first few years of his life in an orphanage. Angelina adopted him in 2007, though Brad did not initially adopt him due to legal restrictions. He was officially adopted by Brad in 2008.
As of 2026, Pax is 22 years old and works as a photographer. He was the set photographer for the film First They Killed My Father, directed by his mother Angelina and executive produced by his brother Maddox.

Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt
Knox and Vivienne were born on July 12, 2008, as twins. Knox was named after Brad’s grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse, while Vivienne was named after Angelina’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand.
As of 2024, both are only 17 years old, and Angelina has kept them largely out of the public eye. However, Vivienne played the younger Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) in Angelina’s 2014 film Maleficent, and Knox attended the 2024 Governors Awards with his mother.
