Rudy Giuliani’s Hospitalization and Recovery
Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, has been battling pneumonia while receiving treatment at a hospital in Florida. The 81-year-old was reported to be breathing on his own and able to communicate with his children after being taken off a ventilator. His condition remains serious, and he may need to stay in the facility for several more days.
Giuliani’s children, Caroline and Andrew, rushed to the Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach after their father was admitted in critical but stable condition. Caroline, a Democrat voter and activist filmmaker, had previously clashed with her father over his support for President Donald Trump. Despite their political differences, she was by his side during his recovery. Andrew, a former pro golfer who worked for Trump during his first term, also joined his family at the hospital.
The source indicated that Giuliani’s condition is still serious, and he may remain in the hospital for several more days. The facility is located just five minutes from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Giuliani contracted pneumonia on Sunday, which led to his hospitalization. He was reportedly in critical condition.

John Catsimatidis, a billionaire and longtime friend of Giuliani, shared positive news about his condition. According to the New York Post, Catsimatidis learned from a former close aide that Giuliani was talking and alert, which he considered great news. President Trump praised Giuliani as a “True Warrior” and “the best mayor in the history of New York City.”
Tom von Essen, Giuliani’s business partner, mentioned that the former mayor had a tough weekend. Von Essen, who served as the New York City Fire Commissioner during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, noted that today was an important day for Giuliani.
Ted Goodman, Giuliani’s spokesman, confirmed that the former mayor is recovering from pneumonia. He also highlighted that Giuliani’s restrictive airway disease, which developed after 9/11, complicates any respiratory illness. This condition required mechanical ventilation to maintain adequate oxygen levels and stabilize his health.

Giuliani recently held a livestream on his Facebook page, where he could be heard coughing. During the stream, he mentioned that his voice was not at its best, so he would not speak as loudly as usual.
Giuliani played a prominent role in the efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, supporting Trump’s claims of fraud. These actions led to defamation lawsuits, which he settled in court. Former deputy FBI director Dan Bongino praised Giuliani for transforming New York City politics, noting his economic and public safety achievements.
Giuliani also commented on comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s remarks about Melania Trump, calling him an “incompetent jackass.” Kimmel responded by saying Giuliani “rose from the grave to weigh in on the ongoing drama.”

In November of last year, Giuliani was pardoned by Trump for his role in challenging the 2020 election results. He gave a notable speech outside the Four Seasons landscaping business in Pennsylvania during Trump’s attempt to regain the presidency. In 2023, Giuliani filed for bankruptcy with $153 million in debts owed to creditors, including two Georgia election workers he defamed.
Giuliani was elected mayor of New York City in 1993 after serving as a high-profile prosecutor. He was known for his crime crackdown using the ‘broken windows’ philosophy and implementing the controversial stop-and-frisk program. He ran for the Senate in 2000 but dropped out after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Giuliani also ran for president in 2008 before supporting John McCain.
