Hardik Pandya and Mahieka Sharma Set for Wedding
Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma are reportedly preparing to get married. The news was first shared by a sports news platform, which revealed that the couple is set to exchange vows on 22nd May in a private ceremony. According to reports, Mahieka had previously shared a wedding card on her Instagram account, hinting at the upcoming nuptials.
Pandya has not been part of the Mumbai Indians’ recent matches after their loss to Chennai Super Kings. Suryakumar Yadav took charge as the team’s leader for the next two games, while Jasprit Bumrah captained the side during the match against Punjab Kings. The five-time champions have already been eliminated from the IPL 2026 season and still have two games left to play this season.
Health Issues Affect Pandya’s Performance
According to the franchise, Hardik has been dealing with back spasms, which led to him missing several games, including those against Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Punjab. The Men in Blue and Gold are now heading to Kolkata to face Ajinkya Rahane’s team before hosting the Rajasthan Royals to conclude their season.
Shardul Thakur Speaks About Pandya’s Future
After a challenging season, there have been rumors suggesting that the Ambani-owned franchise might be considering parting ways with their skipper. During a post-match press conference following the PBKS vs MI game in Dharamsala, veteran all-rounder Shardul Thakur was asked about these speculations.
Thakur responded, “Social media is always filled with rumors; it is up to the team management to make the final decision. He (Pandya) was injured, which is why he hasn’t been able to travel, but he is back in practice and hopefully will be back for the game against KKR. The team always misses key players.”
A New Chapter for Hardik Pandya
It is worth noting that Hardik previously married Natasa Stankovic, an Indian actress of Serbian descent. She gained popularity for her appearance in the song ‘DJ Wale Babu’ alongside rapper Badshah.
The couple got engaged on 1st January 2020 and tied the knot in a private ceremony due to the lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. In July of the same year, they welcomed their child together. However, Hardik and Natasa decided to separate in July 2024, just a year after rekindling their relationship.
Looking Ahead
As Hardik prepares for his new chapter in life, fans are eagerly awaiting his return to the field. His performance on the cricket pitch and personal life continue to capture the attention of millions. Whether on or off the field, Hardik Pandya remains a prominent figure in the world of cricket and beyond.
