The ultimate spa day: Drug dealers jailed for over 52 years after spending cash on treatments

A Drug Gang’s Lavish Lifestyle and Legal Consequences

A group of drug dealers, known for their extravagant lifestyle, has been sentenced to a combined total of over 52 years in prison. The gang was involved in the distribution of large quantities of cocaine across East Lancashire, while using the proceeds from their illegal activities to fund luxurious experiences such as spa treatments.

The members of the gang were not only involved in drug trafficking but also enjoyed a life of luxury. Evidence showed that the ringleaders used their profits to indulge in lavish living, including regular spa days. Photos captured the dealers smiling in bathrobes during one of these outings, highlighting the stark contrast between their criminal activities and their opulent lifestyle.

Another image revealed stacks of seized cash neatly bundled on a table following a police raid on the operation. This discovery provided crucial evidence against the gang, showcasing the scale of their drug-related financial dealings.

At the center of the operation was Paddy Nolan, 29, who acted as the kingpin of the network. Nolan sourced multiple kilos of cocaine from outside Lancashire before distributing it through his extensive dealer network. His role in the conspiracy was significant, as he had access to substantial amounts of cash from the drug trade.

Detectives from Lancashire Police uncovered evidence indicating that Nolan had a considerable amount of money tied to the drugs operation. Among his key associates was Ross Boys, 29, who supplied cocaine to other dealers across East Lancashire. Boys played a vital role in maintaining the flow of drugs within the region.

Another important figure in the gang was Darren Mott, 47, who served as the gang’s cash courier. He made repeated trips between Manchester and various parts of Lancashire, ensuring that the gang’s finances remained well-managed. On November 14, 2024, police observed Mott carrying a rucksack while meeting Nolan, before traveling in his car.

Mott then transferred to another vehicle, which was later stopped by officers. During the search, £100,000 in cash was discovered in his rucksack. This finding was a major breakthrough in the investigation.

Nolan, Boys, and Mott were among the first to be arrested the following month. Additional members of the gang were apprehended in December and January of the following year. All of them admitted to conspiracy to supply cocaine and were sentenced at Burnley Crown Court last week.

Nolan received a sentence of 11 years and eight months, while Boys was given seven years and six months. Mott was sentenced to six years and nine months. Other members of the gang received sentences ranging from three to five years.

Chief Inspector Sarah Denson commented on the impact of the gang’s activities, stating: ‘This gang made significant amounts of money peddling drugs on our streets.’ Her remarks highlight the serious consequences of drug-related crimes and the importance of law enforcement efforts in combating such activities.

The case serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by drug trafficking and the need for continued vigilance in addressing such issues within communities.
