Health Concerns Over President Trump’s Recent Hospital Visit
President Donald Trump recently visited the hospital for his third time in 13 months, reportedly for a medical and dental checkup. Despite claiming to be in “perfect” health after the exam, a prominent physician, Vin Gupta, highlighted a significant omission in the president’s lab results that has sparked questions about his overall condition.
Gupta, who frequently appears on MS NOW as a medical analyst, expressed concerns about Trump’s day-to-day performance as president. He noted that the president often appears to fall asleep during major Oval Office events.
- “He seems like he has a lot of daytime somnolence,” Gupta said in a video published by Zeteo. “What we see with our own eyes is difficult to ignore.”
Growing Scrutiny of Trump’s Health
With his 80th birthday approaching next month, Trump is the oldest living president in U.S. history. This has led to increased scrutiny regarding his physical and cognitive health. In recent months, observers have noticed several symptoms, including:
- Swollen ankles
- Bruising on his hands
- A rash on his neck
- Appearing to doze off during meetings
The White House has offered various explanations for these symptoms, but it was their explanation for the swollen ankles that particularly caught Gupta’s attention.
The Issue of Chronic Venous Insufficiency
Gupta pointed out that the White House claims Trump’s swollen ankles are due to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that affects blood flow in the legs. While this can be a sign of aging, Gupta raised concerns about the term “chronic.”
- “They said that it was ‘chronic.’ He had three appointments in the last year – it did not note that this was on his problem list,” Gupta explained. “And so, is it acute? Did this just happen, and is there a reason for that? Is there a heart issue that could explain that?”
Zeteo’s John Harwood asked Gupta if Trump’s ankle swelling could be consistent with congestive heart failure, a chronic condition where the heart muscle is too weak to pump blood efficiently.
- “If this is acute – say, it happened over the last weeks to the last few months, which, based on the readouts from his physicians, one could claim that that’s exactly what’s happening – sure, that could indicate that,” Gupta responded.
Ongoing Concerns and Public Interest
The discussion around Trump’s health has gained significant public interest, with many questioning the transparency of the White House’s communications. Analysts and medical professionals continue to scrutinize any signs that might indicate underlying health issues.
