Trump’s Plan to Replace 250th Birthday Concert with MAGA Rally
President Donald Trump has made a bold move to cancel the United States’ 250th birthday concert, suggesting it be replaced with a large “Make America Great Again” rally. This decision comes after a scathing critique of the event’s performers, whom he described as “boring” and “overpriced.”
In a furious post on Truth Social, Trump criticized the lineup of musicians, claiming they were not popular and that their music was unappealing. He stated, “We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain.”
This outburst is part of a broader conflict involving the Kennedy Center, which Trump has previously criticized. He claimed the center is “broken, unsafe, and $busted,” and suggested it would collapse both structurally and financially.

Trump also took aim at US District Judge Christopher Cooper, who ruled against his plans to close the Kennedy Center for renovations and add his name to the institution. The president called for the judge to be impeached, stating that the ruling was another setback in his efforts to leave a lasting mark on Washington’s cultural landscape.
Replacing Music with Politics
Trump’s latest plan involves replacing the music festival with a massive rally where he would take center stage. He referred to himself as “THE GOAT” – the greatest of all time – and compared himself to Elvis Presley, claiming he could draw larger crowds with just a microphone and a speech.
“I am ordering my Representatives to look at the feasibility of doing an AMERICA IS BACK Rally,” he wrote. “Same time, same location. Only Great Patriots invited – It will be a Wild and Beautiful Celebration of America!”

The president emphasized that he would replace the “highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists’” with a major speech, rallying the country forward. He claimed that two years ago, the United States was “DEAD” and now it’s the “HOTTEST” country in the world.
Artists Withdraw from the Event
Several artists have pulled out of the Freedom 250 concert due to backlash and safety concerns. Poison frontman Bret Michaels cited fears for the safety of his family, friends, and bandmates as reasons for his withdrawal.
Michaels joined other artists like Morris Day, Young MC, the Commodores, and Martina McBride in stepping away from the event. This has left organizers with only four acts: Vanilla Ice, Flo Rida, C+C Music Factory, and Milli Vanilli.

Vanilla Ice defended the event, stating that music should bring the country together and that the focus should be on celebrating the United States. He expressed his intention to “bring people together” rather than make it a political event.
A Longstanding Comparison to Elvis
Trump has long been a fan of Elvis Presley, often comparing himself to the iconic musician. In 2018, he claimed people used to tell him he looked like Elvis, calling it a great compliment. That same year, he even posted a photo of his face split with Presley’s, asking for opinions on their resemblance.

Earlier this year, Trump visited Graceland, Elvis’s estate in Tennessee, where he jokingly asked if he could take Elvis in a fight. The staff member reportedly said Elvis would have let the President win.
Other Posts and Campaign Events
On Saturday, Trump also praised New York Giants player Jaxson Dart, who recently introduced him at a rally. He called Dart a “winner” and mocked critics, saying they were “losers.”
He shared an AI image of himself playing basketball with New York Governor Kathy Hochul, captioning it with a call to vote for Bruce Blakeman. Trump also posted several images showing children playing outside with the caption: “America is back!”

In another post, he shared a photo of a trash can where former President Barack Obama’s new Chicago library was supposed to be, alongside a picture of him golfing.
