Shannen Doherty’s Ex-Husband Reaches Agreement with Estate

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Iswarienko, now 51, has agreed to pay her estate ‘one-half the equity’ of their shared property in Dripping Springs, Texas. He also agreed to return Doherty’s coffee table and couch, as well as provide an inventory of his photographic works featuring the actress. Additionally, he must pay $25,000 to the estate for Doherty’s share in a Mooney M-20 airplane.
The estate also agreed to return Iswarienko’s guitars, equipment, and a Garard stereo record player.
Legal Disputes Over Divorce Settlement
Doherty’s legal team and Christopher Cortazzo, trustee of the Shannen Doherty Family Trust, had previously accused Iswarienko of failing to meet several monetary obligations outlined in the divorce settlement. According to Us Weekly, Iswarienko’s lawyer responded by arguing that the divorce agreement was submitted to the wrong court and challenged the jurisdiction of the case. He claimed that the agreement should not have been filed after Doherty’s death and that the court lacked authority to enforce its terms.
The divorce deal reportedly required Iswarienko to sell Doherty’s $1.5 million home in Texas and divide the net proceeds equally with her estate. However, it was alleged that he refused to list the property, which he appears to be living in. He also allegedly refused to return Doherty’s personal items and failed to produce an inventory of photographs of her.
A Difficult Decision
Doherty, who was 53 when she died, filed for divorce in 2023 while battling stage four breast cancer. She reportedly felt she had no other option at the time. Her publicist, Leslie Sloane, told Page Six: “Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option.”
Doherty passed away in 2024, four years after her initial diagnosis with stage four cancer. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and went into remission in 2017. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her loved ones and her dog, Bowie, according to her publicist.
