Diesel ute now comes with $4000 fuel card in Australia

JAC T9 Ute Range Offers $4000 Fuel Card Amid Rising Prices

JAC has introduced a $4000 fuel card offer for all models in its T9 dual-cab 4×4 ute range, valid until June 30. This move comes as fuel prices in Australia continue to rise, with diesel costs more than doubling to over $3 per litre. The T9 is positioned as a competitor to the top-selling Ford Ranger, and similar offers have been made by other manufacturers during periods of high fuel prices.

The T9 range includes six variants, featuring two dual-cab/chassis models and four dual-cab pickups. Each model is equipped with a 78-litre fuel tank and achieves combined fuel consumption of 7.6L/100km. JAC Australia’s managing director, Ahmed Mahmoud, emphasized that the T9 is designed to meet the needs of Australian drivers, offering reliability and support when required.

According to the New South Wales Government’s FuelCheck website, the average diesel price today stands at 245.3 cents per litre. This makes JAC’s $4000 fuel card offer particularly generous, as it could fill the T9’s tank nearly 21 times. Based on the vehicle’s fuel efficiency, the voucher covers more than 21,500km of driving. Buyers also have the option to take the offer as a cash discount off the purchase price.

Every version of the T9 is powered by a 120kW/410Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The payload capacity ranges from 980kg to 1165kg depending on the variant, while all models have a braked towing capacity of 3200kg.

The dual-cab 4×4-only range starts with the entry-level Tradepro cab/chassis priced from $38,990 before on-road costs. The Oasis cab/chassis is priced at $41,162 before on-roads and includes features such as leather-accented seat trim. The Oasis trim level marks the entry point for the dual-cab pickup range, starting at $41,162 plus on-road costs. It includes LED headlights, side steps, leather-accented seats, and a powered driver’s seat as standard.

The mid-range Haven grade follows at $45,630 plus ORCs, adding power mirrors, roof rails, rear privacy glass, and a powered front passenger seat. The Osprey is priced at $46,629 before on-roads, while the Osprey X tops the range with black exterior details and a power sunroof, starting at $47,079 plus ORCs.

In addition to the $4000 fuel card offer for some diesel variants, Ford Australia has also reduced the prices of its Ranger PHEV (plug-in hybrid) models by up to $10,000. JAC is set to release its own plug-in hybrid dual-cab ute, the Hunter, which will compete with the Ranger PHEV as well as the BYD Shark 6 and GWM Cannon Alpha PHEVs when it arrives in showrooms in the coming months.
