Renault’s Master van is set to see a price increase in Australia, with the next-generation model now available at a higher cost. The base manual diesel variant starts from $55,990 before on-road costs, which is nearly $800 more expensive than the previous base automatic version. Subtle price increases continue throughout the range, but the most significant rise is for the high roof Master, which now costs $5,000 more. This increase comes with an upgrade to an automatic transmission instead of a manual.
The new generation of Renault Master van has been confirmed, offering both diesel and electric options to compete with the 2026 Ford Transit and Volkswagen Crafter. Renault has also reduced the price of its 2025 LDV Deliver 9, Peugeot Boxer, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which are all rivals to the Master van.
Drivetrain options are a key feature of the new 2024 Renault Master van, with choices including diesel, electric, or hydrogen power. The diesel model is now powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine, replacing a less efficient 2.3-litre unit. It will continue to compete with the Fiat Scudo and Ford Transit Custom in a highly competitive van segment.
The EV range starts at $77,990 before on-road costs for the medium wheelbase model, with the long wheelbase requiring an additional $2,000. The electric Master will challenge models such as the Farizon SV, Kia PV5, and VW ID.Buzz Cargo. While the electric Master is more expensive than these rivals, it is comparable in price to electric variants of the Transit Custom. However, the Master offers a larger size compared to the Transit Custom.

The electric Master is powered by a single electric motor that produces 105kW and 300Nm, which are lower figures compared to its competitors. The van is equipped with an 87kWh battery, providing an all-electric driving range of 409km according to WLTP standards. Its payload and towing capacities are significantly lower than those of the diesel variants.
The van has received some practical improvements, including a larger digital driver display. There is now more space in the centre console, with the gear selector moved to a wand on the steering wheel. The new-generation Renault Master diesel will be available in showrooms next month, with EV variants expected to join in the second half of this year.
