Mitchell Marsh smashes four sixes in a row against Anshul Kamboj in LSG vs CSK clash

Mitchell Marsh, the opening batter for Lucknow Super Giants, delivered one of those explosive performances in IPL 2026 during Match 59 against Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Australian batter completely shifted the momentum of the game with his aggressive batting, especially during a brutal over against young pacer Anshul Kamboj.

Chasing the target against CSK, Marsh started with full confidence from the very first ball. However, it was the fifth over of the innings that became the turning point, as he attacked Kamboj with fearless and powerful shots.

On the first ball of that over, Marsh timed the ball perfectly and smashed a short delivery over the covers for a massive six. The next ball saw him pull the ball cleanly over deep mid-wicket for another six. Kamboj tried to change his length, but Marsh continued to hit with precision. The third delivery was again pulled, this time over deep square leg for another six. The pressure kept mounting, and on the fourth ball, Marsh achieved four sixes in a row. For this shot, he sat deep in the crease and launched the ball high into the stands.

The crowd at the Ekana Stadium erupted after each shot, as Marsh took complete control of the chase. He ended the over with a boundary on the last ball, flicking it fine down the leg side. That single over yielded 28 runs, giving Lucknow a significant advantage in the run chase.

Marsh Drives LSG’s Dominating Run

After that incredible over, Mitchell Marsh continued his aggressive style and remained unbeaten on 77 runs off just 31 balls. His innings included seven fours and seven sixes, with a staggering strike rate of 248.39, which felt almost unrealistic.

Josh Inglis, batting from the other end, provided solid support, remaining unbeaten on 27 off 22 balls. The opening partnership gave Lucknow Super Giants complete control, as CSK bowlers struggled to contain the run flow.

Marsh’s ability to hit both pace and spin made the entire chase seem almost effortless. The Chennai Super Kings bowlers failed to find the right lengths, and the Australian batter punished every loose delivery that came his way.

LSG Go 113 Without Loss

At 113/0 in 8.5 overs, Lucknow Super Giants needed only 75 more runs from 67 balls to finish the chase. Mitchell Marsh was on 77, while Josh Inglis stayed unbeaten on 27.

Lucknow also received help from extras, including one bye, five leg-byes, and three wides. Additionally, key batters like Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, and Rishabh Pant were still waiting to come in and add further momentum to the innings.

For Chennai Super Kings, Anshul Kamboj had a difficult time, conceding 39 runs in two overs. Spencer Johnson then gave away 31 runs in his three overs, and Mukesh Choudhary plus Gurjapneet Singh were also expensive. Noor Ahmad was the only bowler who managed to keep things slightly under control, finishing with 13 runs in 1.5 overs.
