Khloé Kardashian Shares Regret Over Declawing Her Cats
Khloé Kardashian has opened up about her deep regret over declawing her two cats, Grey Kitty and Baby Kitty. The 41-year-old reality star admitted she was “misadvised” about the procedure, which she now believes has had a negative impact on her pets’ well-being.
On her podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land, Khloé shared that her decision to have her cats declawed came from a place of ignorance. She explained that she had never owned cats before and didn’t understand the long-term consequences of the procedure.
“I was really misadvised about getting my cats declawed,” she said during the May 20 episode of her podcast. “I’ve never owned cats before. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I feel really, really terrible that I did go in this direction. I feel like that’s why my cats are miserable and it was at my doing.”
The Impact of Declawing
Khloé described the behavior of her cats as erratic and chaotic after the procedure. She explained that she took extra steps to ensure their safety, including using air tags to prevent them from leaving the house. However, she admitted that the experience has left her feeling anxious.
“My cats wear air tags, like they’re not allowed to even go near a door. I’m so afraid if they get out, because they have no way to defend themselves. They’ve lost their protection tools, so it makes me sad.”
She also revealed that the process of introducing her second cat, Baby Kitty, to Grey Kitty led to a lot of tension in the household. Initially, Grey Kitty was a “saint of a cat” who never caused any trouble. But when Baby Kitty was brought into the home, Grey Kitty became territorial and started urinating on the beds and causing chaos.
Struggling with Cat Behavior
Khloé tried various methods suggested by her vet and breeder, such as using a pheromone collar, but nothing seemed to work. Eventually, she decided to put cameras in the house to figure out what was happening.
“I found it was Baby Kitty,” she said. “She began mimicking Grey Kitty’s behavior. Grey Kitty is back to being an angel, and now I have Baby Kitty, who’s a demon right now.”
The situation has been overwhelming for Khloé, who admits she doesn’t know how to handle it. “What do I do? Cuz I can’t live like this. I don’t know what to do,” she asked her fans. “The vet and the breeder, everyone’s like, ‘We’ve never seen a cat do this. We’ve never seen a cat do this for this long.’ They’ve given me all the suggestions, all the tips, but also if she’s not happy, I don’t know what to do.”
She described the situation as an “animal circus.”
Adding a New Family Member
In addition to her cats, Khloé also owns a black Labrador named Peppermint. She adopted the dog for her family as a Christmas gift in 2025. While the dog has brought joy to the household, the challenges with her cats continue to weigh heavily on her mind.
Looking Ahead
Despite the difficulties, Khloé remains committed to finding solutions for her pets. She continues to seek advice from professionals and shares her experiences openly with her audience. Her journey highlights the importance of understanding the long-term effects of pet care decisions and the responsibility that comes with owning animals.
As she navigates this challenging time, Khloé hopes to find a way to restore harmony in her home while ensuring the well-being of both her cats and her new dog.
