Christian Pulisic’s Ex-Girlfriend Returns to Golf After Break-Up
Christian Pulisic’s ex-girlfriend, Alexa Melton, has made a return to the golf course after taking some time away following their recent split. Melton, a professional golfer, confirmed her separation from the US soccer star last month with a controversial Instagram post that included a false accusation about her ex.
The 25-year-old wrote: ‘How many likes to post his Raya profile,’ which appeared to suggest that Pulisic was either unfaithful or already back on the market. However, she quickly retracted the claim, adding in a follow-up comment: ‘I received false info. He is not a cheater. And narrative beyond that is not mine.’
During the break-up, Melton stepped back from golf, admitting she wasn’t sure if she would be able to compete again this year due to mental and physical challenges. But she finally made her comeback on Sunday at the Epson Tour, the developmental golf tour of the LPGA, after several weeks away.
Alongside a series of photos from her first round back, Melton shared a heartfelt message in the caption: ‘Been away for a bit but coming back with gratitude for everything that pro golf entails. The good, the bad, the ugly, it’s all part of the journey. That’s life and as cliche as it is, golf really does teach you how to handle the curveballs life throws your way—how to adapt, grow, be resilient, handle your emotions. I didn’t know if I was going to compete this year, mentally and physically, but I’m proud of the fight so far. And that’s my focus going forward, fighting to show up each day as the best version of me. There’s a lot on my mind, a lot I want to say, but I’m thankful for you guys who reach out with encouraging messages, I’m appreciative of the people in my corner.’
Pulisic recently broke his silence on the split in an interview with Time Magazine. The AC Milan forward, who is preparing for this summer’s World Cup, praised his former partner despite her recent accusations against him.
‘I only look at her in the most positive way,’ he said. ‘She was a lot of fun, and she supported me in every way. She wanted to push me to enjoy my life a little bit more and do things with her and do things just in general. And I was grateful for that.’
In 2025, Melton and Pulisic appeared in a documentary together on Paramount Plus. The couple revealed how they met, with Pulisic saying: ‘I slid in the DMs as they call it.’
Melton added: ‘I got the DM and I was like “who is this dude with 8m followers and why is he DMing me?” And then I scrolled through his Instagram and I was like “Oh he’s a big time soccer player.”‘
Pulisic appeared smitten with Melton on the documentary and described her as ‘a really special girl.’ He continued: ‘I guess I never got to a point where I was ready for it and that’s something I’ve really changed my mentality with and also my faith and that in a lot of ways has sort of led me to her.’
