The Rise of Electric Vehicles with Impressive Ranges
Range anxiety is a common concern for many when considering electric vehicles (EVs), but the landscape is rapidly changing. With new models now capable of driving over 500 miles on a single charge, these fears may soon be a thing of the past. However, not all EVs are created equal, and there’s a wide range of options available depending on budget and needs.
Many of the larger EVs, such as SUVs or saloons, come with impressive ranges but at a premium price. For example, the new BMW iX3 offers a range of 500 miles, but it comes with a price tag of at least £58,775. Similarly, the Volvo EX60 can cover 503 miles on a single charge, yet it will cost at least £56,680. These models are ideal for those who prioritize long-range capabilities but may not be suitable for everyone due to their high costs.
On the other end of the market, there are affordable city EVs that are making their way into the UK. However, these models often have shorter ranges, sometimes as low as 200 miles or even less. The new Renault Twingo, for instance, will cost less than £20,000 when it arrives but will only manage 163 miles on a single charge. While these cars are great for urban environments, they may not be suitable for longer trips.
There are also some EVs that fall in between, offering a balance of practicality, affordability, and range. These vehicles are perfect for families, small towns, or cities, providing enough power for weekend getaways or occasional road trips. Here are five EVs that stand out for their performance and value:
