Bullock’s Lucky Seven Hopes at Scone This Sunday

Aaron Bullock, a seasoned jockey, is set to head to Scone on Sunday with an impressive lineup of seven rides, aiming to maintain his streak of success. Before the recent Rosehill meeting, Bullock had secured 18 victories from his last 47 mounts, including four wins at the Gunnedah Cup showcase event.

Bullock previously achieved five wins during the two-day Scone carnival earlier this month and is hopeful that his winning momentum will continue at Sunday’s meeting, which has been relocated due to waterlogged conditions in Muswellbrook.

Bullock’s day begins with a partnership with the successful training duo of Paul Messara and Leah Gavranich, as he guides Flirtation in the Mach Energy Country Boosted 3YO & Up Maiden Plate (900m). Flirtation, a filly by Snitzel, was a trial winner before making her debut with a second-place finish at Scone behind Copperline.

In addition to Flirtation, Bullock will team up with Messara and Gavranich again, steering Pontevedra in the Pursehouse Rural Country Boosted Class 2 Handicap (1400m). Pontevedra had a couple of wins at Muswellbrook in October and November and returned from a break with an 11th place finish at Scone behind Brutal Belle.

Newcastle-based trainer Kris Lees has provided Bullock with two entries: Terrawatt in the Greg Cribb Memorial Red Crown 2YO Handicap (900m) and Mega Pixel in The Remington Super Maiden Handicap (1300m). Terrawatt, a son of Nicconi, is making his debut after several trials, while Mega Pixel finished towards the back of the field upon resuming from a break.

Bullock will also ride Aussie Nation, trained by Annabel and Rob Archibald, in the Hunter River Stayers Cup Benchmark 74 Handicap (2200m). Aussie Nation previously won at Gosford three starts ago and has placed second in his last four races around that success.

The Cameron Crockett-trained Hulu is another mount for Bullock in the Shorty Cribb Aberdeen Cup Benchmark 82 Handicap (1300m). Hulu finished third in the last start Country Cup at Scone.

Bullock’s final ride of the day will be Solar Blast for Craig Clegg in the Snowden Racing Benchmark 66 Handicap (1000m). Solar Blast was a winner at Scone in February and came in sixth in his most recent race at Muswellbrook earlier this month.
