She recently married Scott Michael Campbell on Saturday, just three months after the passing of her ex-husband. The ceremony took place in Missoula, Montana, and was captured by Dennis Webber Photography. McComb shared the stunning images on Instagram, marking the occasion with a heartfelt message.

“Yesterday @scottmichaelcampbell and I under the covenant of God got officially married by my beautiful sister [Essence Atkins surrounded] by the people we love most in the world in our most favorite city Missoula Montana,” she wrote to her more than 15,400 followers.

McComb, who was married to Van Der Beek from 2003 to 2010, continued, “Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by. God is so good. Thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from all over the country to be with us. Thank you Jesus the way maker miracle worker!”

Van Der Beek, known for his role as Dawson Leery on the show Dawson’s Creek, passed away on February 11 after battling stage 3 colorectal cancer. The actor had a successful career, appearing in various TV shows and films such as American Gigolo, Ray Donovan, and The Event. He was also recognized for his roles in Varsity Blues, One Tree Hill, and CSI: Cyber.

McComb, who has been seen in several television series, expressed her gratitude for the support she received during her wedding. “You all made it so special and a truly magical weekend that we will never forget,” she said. “We are sitting here counting our many blessings. Thank you to everyone who made this so special for us!”

Van Der Beek, who had six children with his second wife Kimberly, was a devoted father. McComb reflected on their time together, highlighting the deep connection they shared. “He shined so bright yet was so humble and human. Always searching, always growing, always going deeper, always chasing things outside his comfort zone.”

She praised Van Der Beek as a family man, emphasizing his love for Kimberly. “They were true soulmates. How she showed up for him with such grace is so beautiful and something I will forever admire.”

Following Van Der Beek’s death, McComb shared her feelings on Instagram, expressing her heartbreak over the loss of her ex-husband. “I am heartbroken over the loss of beloved James and especially heartbroken for his amazing family.” She described their journey together as meaningful and cherished.

Van Der Beek’s colleagues in the entertainment industry also remembered him, acknowledging his impact on the world. His representative described the couple’s divorce as “totally amicable” in a March 2010 article. The former pair’s wedding in July 2003 was attended by notable figures, including Dawson’s Creek co-stars Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps.

Van Der Beek shared his thoughts on the emotional impact of his health battle in an interview with the Today Show in December. “I never expected that. I never just stopped to appreciate what I’d done. And I will say, every time somebody says, ‘I’m praying for you, and I’m wishing you the best,’ I appreciate it.”

Van Der Beek is survived by his children with Kimberly: Olivia, 15, Joshua, 14, Annabel, 12, Emilia, ten, and Gwendolyn, seven, and Jeremiah, four. Kimberly shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, stating, “Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace.”
